Men's Day

So yesterday was International Men's Day. I had no fucking idea. Did I need a Men's Day? That's the question I asked myself this morning when one friend (jokingly) sent me the image that I put here. I guess that I really don't need a day all for myself? But hey.

Apparently, it was created to improve gender relations and to create awareness concerning the importance of positive male role models (??). But Women's day is also celebrated, so what do I know? The thing is that I also saw many churches promoting the day and we all know the opinion I have of any celebration promoted by organized religion.

Cisgender men really don't need their own day. After all, there's apparently more than one hundred sixty ways to show off the privilege that comes with the territory of being male.  As a gay man, some of those really don't apply, but I don't think there's need to celebrate this day apart from having the opportunity to put some naked man in my blog. So here he is.

Colby Jansen. I think he kind of personifies a voracious sex drive that's unapologetically gay and male and his body kind of has got a great physicality to it that literally makes me salivate. I know. He may be what we conventionally call 'masculine' because he's buff and gruff and solid, but I think his performances always have a lot of humanity: in the middle of the smut, he's present and there's a softness and a hint of vulnerability there that makes him somehow appear approachable. He's the guy next door whom I'd love to climb like a tree. He may not have the 'perfect' body and face that the gaystapo demands, but he gets me hot. And that in my porn is essential.

Colby tops, Colby bottoms, he sucks dick, he eats ass, he pisses on people and gets pissed on, gets tied, ties people up and he does it all with gusto. He's taken on twinks and on Rocco Steele (*gasp*) and he's worked for big studios and small just for fans ventures. And I can say that's something I admire in a man: the capacity for enjoying everything that comes his way. That sense of not being inhibited and that willingness to try things that may not be considered standard or mainstream are basically what make s a man interesting IMHO.

And now Colby has made the jump to mainstream film. After being in more than a hundred scenes with men.com (but who's counting, amiright?) he has now been casted in a short film that explores the side of hookups that we seldom see in gay movies and porn: that slightly awkward and a little imperfect series of moments that follow when two strangers decide to fuck. And he's executive producing too! Talented, our Colby, right?

And I have to say that I think that Colby may be a natural for this acting thing. After all, if you've been naked for the world to see, there's no reason not to feel comfortable in front of a camera. But he delivers. And that makes me happy. I hope there's more opportunities for Colby to show what he can do and that he's not only a sex object (a very handsome sex object, if we're gonna be picky) but also a good actor. Multidimensional. That's another good quality in a man.

Now, between us, I cannot see why is it so hard for some people to accept that porn stars and sex workers are just... people? Are we that puritanical and repressed? Is it always going to be 'us' and 'them'? I have never dated a porn star or had sex with a sex worker but I do not rule out those possible scenarios. Why should I? They date and they go to Trader Joe's and they fuck up and they have lives and they earn their money. Just like you and I. They are just men. And I like men. Very much so.

So Happy (late) Men's day, dearhearts. Here, enjoy Colby's mainstream film:

XOXO

  2. Somebody over at Facebook noticed that yesterday was not just Men's Day but also World Toilet Day, what a rude coincidence, isn't it? :) Not that many of the men's business isn't done in the toilets, but are they applying the toilet seat should be our throne?
Thanks for the hunky dose of hunkiness for today!
PS I loved it when Russell Tovey was dating a male porn star, what a lovely couple they were!
PS did you see Daniel Radcliffe and his male 'bodyguard's' airport photos today all over the internet, they're a super hot couple too!

  3. Colby is totally hot and an apropos calendar boy for men’s day. Well, after you, of course.

The short was adorable. They perfectly portrayed the awkwardness of hookups. Colby was sweet and caring with his young charge.

  6. I don't need a Men's day.... I celebrate men every day. Well, I hope it's seen as a celebration.... I agree with your assessment 100%. As for Colby hitting mainstream film after being a porn star - I think we may be seeing a bit of turnover in that department. He wasn't the first (if you remember John Waters' films) and hopefully he won't be the last. The more we come to realize that people are people - we eat, sleep, piss, shit, and fuck - and cease judging by profession, the better off we'll all be.

    1. Same! LOL
And yes, wasn't Tracy Lords in a Waters film? I think it's the millenials, too, who do not give a fuck about somebody being naked for a living.

  9. Bob's Comment made me laugh! The minds that thought of Men's Day are probably the same minds that thought up Heterosexual Pride. Colby's been around for a long time and I'm sure knows very well he needs to expand his horizons. Good luck to him.

    1. Haha, yes probably the same minds.
And Colby is adapting to the times, which is a good thing for a porn actor.

  10. I like that they have an International Men's Day, versus a National Men's Day, don't you? That way we can capture all that's gong on around the world. Very cool that Colby is multidimensional, and is clearly excited in every picture he takes, but can he cook? (lol) Really love your post! Hugs, RO

    1. I know! It’s an international event. And trust me, if Colby would come knocking, cooking would be relegated to almost non existence! LoL
Glad to read you around here!
