Let's talk about what they're going after next....

"It is difficult to overstate the radicalness of the current Supreme Court majority.  Sadly, the media continues to refer to them as "conservatives" when in fact, the correct description is religious zealots or right wing extremists.  There is nothing conservative about them and, as the majority opinion striking down Roe v. Wade makes clear, these extremists want to take the country nor back to the 1950's but rather the pre-Civil War 1800's. If personal rights and liberties did not exist historically in the 1700's or 1800's according to these extremists, they simply enjoy no constitutional protections. Perhaps most insane is Clarence Thomas' (the Court's mental midget) joining in a ruling and reasoning that if followed to its logical conclusion would outlaw his own marriage to a white woman and allow public establishments to bar his admission due to his skin color.  The media needs to stop foolishly calling these zealots and fanatics "conservatives" and immediately calling them out for what they are.  If one knows the true history of the "Christian Right" the true motivation for their political involvement was opposing desegregation and allowing blacks to attend the same schools as whites.  This has never changed and abortion was simply a smoke screen to mask their real agenda."

  1. This is why we stand and fight. Fifty-three years ago today our brothers and sisters fought for our freedom and we'll do it again.

    1. The fighting never stopped.
Some people were lulled into a fake sense of safety by Obergefell, but the fighting never stopped. Fight we will.

  2. Not all media outlets are saying conservative: the NYT, Washington Post, Guardian (UK), NBC news (I get a feed from them) are all calling this court radical, and Thomas is being portrayed as an outlier, and an extremist. Also, many media outlets are using video clips of what Thomas and others said during their Senate hearings and calling them liars.

    1. Oh, they lied.
Thomas, the Opus Dei woman, the Drunk Fratboy Rapist, they all lied to get this cushy job. Calling them liars is not enough, they ARE liars. SCOTUS is outdated and clearly partisan at this point. It needs to be expanded.

  3. Yes, POC need to be concerned too. It's not just reproductive rights and the LGBTQ+ community that will be targeted in the long run.

    1. Absolutely.
I was commenting on our friend's blog (the one who blocked you, heh) and he insists this is just about 'women' (we know what he means). And he's wrong. Reproductive rights is just the beginning. All personal freedoms are at stake after R vs W was repealed.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
This radical court is an outrage. Those who intimated during their hearings that Roe was settled and then overturned it should be charged with perjury, impeached, and removed from the court.

    2. Oh, nothing will happen to them.
They feel untouchable. Have you seen Ginny? She feels untouchable cause Clarence will protect her. This SCOTUS was bought and paid for by the religulous to make the US a theocracy.

    Big says,
It's been a very dark, dark week. First the decision that states must use public funds for private religious schools, then overturning the NY state gun rights, and then overturning Roe.
Thomas reportedly said, "The democrats have made my life hell for 45 years, now I'm going to make theirs hell for the next 45."
Sen John Cornyn tweeted, "Now do Plessy vs Ferguson/Brown vs Board of Education."
The TX republican legislators have openly targeted the LGBTQ rights with their announced 2022 Platform.
There is already talk about going after contraception.
If anyone thinks this court is going to stop, they're wrong.
Huntley has the right idea and I have already done FB posts telling folks to contact Sen. Durbin demanding he do what Huntley suggests.

    1. Ugh. It's been a week.
Add to all that the blow of allowing prayer in schools, Miranda right being struck and Trans right being trampled in almost every state. Contraception is next, for sure. Gay marriage follows. The whole 'leave it to the states' is a dog whistle for 'leave it to Republican-led' states.
Contacting our congresspeople and senators is a good first step.

  6. Never give up. Never go back. Never back down. Stonewall 2023 - SCOTUS? We're coming for you! F 'em. Lazy azz Thomas and his hag wife, Amy Butter Has Gone Rancid In My Mouf and Frat Boy Rapist need to get what's coming to 'em. If you're not angry? You're not paying attention!

The Religulous are trying to shove us back in the 1950's closet and we will not go quietly. But Upton, you know the white gays are not going to do anything until their designer lifestyles and their money is threatened. They'll pay attention only when THEY are affected.

  7. Im to the point to say fuck it and them!!!! I was so hot and upset by the ruling I almost did go to New York Pride....but then thought otherwise. Now is not the time to not attend prides and show why bother going? Because we know our butt sex is coming next??? Im fucking ready to rumble.

    1. Oh, I'm livid.
I went to Pride this weekend JUST because I needed to feel there's still freedoms they can't take away easily. And you know butt sex is next, right after they take contraception off the shelves.
They want a theocracy, ruled by fear and that big old book. I'm with you. I'm ready to cut a bitch.

  8. In Italy too, the scandal of your decision was enormous and terrible. One thing seems clear, where human rights are cultivated (or where, at least, we try to cultivate them): rights are not acquired once and for all, because obscurantism is always ready to take back the land left uncovered by light and by struggle of the people who preceded us.

    1. Can you imagine?
And you are right: human rights are not forever. They can be taken away and that's what's happened here. People take their liberties for granted until they don't have it. They have been plotting this for decades.
You've put it so well, Xersex....
