Oh, Bianca….

I still remember @jigglycaliente’s season.

That girl was a dynamo, always in movement, always talking smack and ki-ki-ing with the gurls. She made for GOOD television. Her antics, her unguarded disposition to make mistakes, her jokes, her wide-eyed surprise when RuPaul would ask her: ‘May I call you Jiggly?’. Then she went on to make the best out of her fame and boy, did she wring that fame for all it was worth.

And now she’s gone. During the weekend I learned that Bianca Castro, professionally known as Jiggly Caliente and one of the judges of Drag Race Philippines had passed away. She was only 44. That in itself is shocking, but what really shook me was that she died after a leg amputation. I bet it was a heart attack because the same thing happened to my biological dad. These things happen in a rush. This video with Monét is less than a month old…

So, Rest in Peace, Bianca/Jiggly. You certainly lived a very interesting life. You will be missed.

XOXO

P.S. she’s been on this blog before with this fun little video:

Damn.... What a shame. Too young. Mads posted about this, as well.
He said she was a regular on "Pose," I don't remember her from "Pose," I'm gonna have to do some research on that.

  5. I was shocked last week when I got an email from Robert....aka Nina about being hospitalized.... I never had time to get a post together for some well wishes. The only thing I do know is that her diabetes was off the charts. I don't know if I had anything to do with it or not. She only lasted two days after the lake came off. Boy what a shame. Now she's in fabulon with all the other legendary queens that have passed on.

I read some posts about her being hospitalized and going to rest for awhile and then, BOOM. She passed.
And it may have to do with diabetes. It's what happened to my dad....
This has been a shit year for the Dolls...

    Diabetes is one vicious disease.
You have to monitor any issues and watch what you eat and it goes beyond sweets.
Seems she had circulation problems in her leg, a very common condition in diabetics that cannot be ignored or deadly gangrene can set in. Had it happen to relative with type 1, she did everything she was supposed to do to control her diabetes and she ended up with gangrene of her foot and then her leg. The gangrene can spread into the body even with amputation, as happened to my relative.
