Oh, Jôao…!

I love Lufe. And I love the houses he shows.

Only tiny drawback? Until very recently, his videos were only in Portuguese. But now they have generated captions in English. Yay you! That’s why we can see @JoaoIncerti’s house today.

And this, Constant Reader, is most probably how people do color when they really like color and have an eye for shapes and the space to express themselves. Is it my taste? Well, you know what I like by now, but I do like what he did here. After all, every (wo)man's house is their castle.

Wow! Just wow! So much going on here, but it’s the embodiment of the person. He’s an artist so he brings that into his decor.

    1. I thought the same.
He's an artist and his house reflects that. It's like stepping in one of his works.

  2. Big says,
I'll agree he uses color...lots of it! ... everywhere! LOL. Too much going on there for me. It'd make me dizzy. As you say, every man's house is their castle, and he's done his the way he wants it.

    1. I know, right?
It's not my own style, either, but I can surely admire his talent. I do love some parts, though. I would absolutely have some of his pieces.

  3. I like the color, however, that neon hallway reminded me of a bar I used to hang out at in the Philippines.

    1. Oh, the color is fab.
And yes! Many of the colors are very tropical, very vibrant. We tend to adopt and adapt more muted colors in the North.

  4. There are individual pieces, designs and touches that I like very much. Everything all crammed together like this is just too overwhelming though. At least for me.

    1. I agree. Same.
He does seem to enjoy having EVERYTHING everywhere though. I would need to lay down.

  5. I love it. I probably couldn’t live in it for long because it might be TOO energizing. But it’s joyful and beautifully done. Lots of great pieces, too. Can I at least have that blue mirror? I also love that painting of the guys on the bar stools. Brilliant!

The eye does need to rest, no? And it IS joyful. That's a perfect description.

  6. What's interesting about his house is I love the ethnic touches to the house and the overall feel, a boy that's way too much color for me. My own personal style is usually neutral walls with the artwork bringing the color in. I like color but very seldom paint walls in a color cuz my taste changes so frequently. So generally I'll paint one wall of color and the other three are neutral. But everything he did here works together. I love all the whimsical touches. He bad to look at either!

    1. Oh, he did a great job incorporating local touches throughout the house (Brazil has fabulous handicrafts).
And I agree with you: it takes a special person to be able to deal with all the color combinations. But the whimsy is off the wall. And he's very handsome... Those Brazilians, am I right??
