Three years
This one goes out to Dave, who likes rock so much. I had heard of 93PUNX once or twice before. I've seen the videos being featured in some o my fav LGBTQ blogs but I've never paid much attention to the music. Until now.
I think that Three years is a collab of several artists: Vic Mensa, Travis Barker and and Joel Madden. The standout is of course Vic Mensa. Mensa, a Chicago musician, has previously used music to talk about social issues (like in 16 Shots, where he talks about Laquan Mc Donals’s Shooting) he does social commentary in music and I’m here for it. He talks about immigration, police brutality, racism and homophobia. What else would you like with your punk rock?
So check the video out. And then his non-profit Save Money Save Life.

Interesting. You can hear the influences of both Korn and Papa Roach.
ReplyDelete@steven: haha yes, indeed!
ReplyDelete@bob: and that was his intent. He’s very much into social justice and raising awareness.
@bae: haha I know, bae.
@dave: yeah, you could say that. I hear more punk rock than nu metal, though.
