Felix
One of the things I miss about Tumblr is that I used to follow tons of queer illustrators and artists. Felix D'Eon was one of them. Felix is an artist that explores queerness from a perspective that brings both fantasy and awareness towards queer love and also towards issues related to ethnicity and culture.
His drawings have a retro feeling that lends itself to a very innocent vibe. That is, until you notice the dicks or the positions in which his subjects are. He explores issues concerning race, ethnicity and gender in an intersectional manner, bringing the three subjects together sometimes. He's a Chicano artist and lives in Mexico and thus has experienced 'otherness' and that perception most times is projected in his work, like when he reimagined the game of Loteria.
“I think being mixed and being gay and having these places in the middle are simultaneously painful and confusing,” D’Eon says. “But this has helped me see how race is constructed and it has made me more open minded.” THEM
He's got a Blog here but I discovered is not updated too often, so you'll have to head to his Etsy store or his Instagram for more updated posts, that sometimes of course, are censored.

Wow, sugar. That’s a great way to start the day. He’s got a great style that is erotic but not smutty. I can see why you like him.
ReplyDeleteYes, it’s a very sensual style. He paints from live subjects, too.

I LOVE SMUT! The last two drawings got me going
ReplyDelete. Gorgeous.
Me too!
DeleteAnd yes, the last two are fantastic. He does a whole series on Chicanos, I think. Yummy.

Oh, I love his stuff! The Queer Loteria cards and deck are simply delicious. I like how inclusive his art is too. I've wanted to attend one of his nude costume parties. They look such fun. Perhaps we can trick, uhm ask, Maddie to hold one for all of us. It be such wicked fun.
ReplyDeleteDid someone say they wanted to have a naked costume party????? You dont have to twist my coc, huh, arm twice!!!!!!!
DeleteOh, Maddie...I adore you.
DeleteNude costume party?
DeleteWhen do we go?
And yes, the LoterÃa is fantastic. Taking such a staple and turning it on it’s head? Genius.

Tom of Finland is still my favorite. His work gets my rock hard from 0 to 12 in a second.....but I did enjoy this artiste also. Very erotic.
ReplyDeleteOh Tom of Finland is superb. Raw and direct. I’m finishing a monograph on his work.
DeleteFelix is very erotic, though, that’s true. More of a storyteller.

I don't understand wearing a skirt when wearing nothing at all is much more comfortable, especially in a warm climate.
ReplyDeleteHa! Well, not really. The skirt allows for more convenience, like in this case.

As Karen Walker once said. " Wouldn't you be more comfortable living up my skirt?"
