Oh, David
First of all, if this man opens his door and talks to me like that, he’ll be in trouble because I may have to start taking off my clothes then and there. Come to think of it, yes, please. Second, if you have not binge watched Strange Things, or seen the new Hellboy movie, please do so now. This man has that man-next-door charm down pat and is a very good actor. And I have a special weakness for men over six feet tall with nice hands and soft eyes so here's this post.
On with the house, now. And the house here is just an excuse to ogle the man, of course, because there's always a good reason to objectify men in this blog. If you wanna get a more in-depth treatment when talking about houses, you should visit Bob's blog and check out his Architecture Wednesdays. My purpose is, as always, less clear. But as per custom, it is focused on an appetizing piece of man candy.
Oh, yes, the house. It's a New York city apartment, and this is a BIG apartment for New York where matchbox boxes go for three thousand dollars a month in rent. What I like about the apartment is that it's deceptively simple. The living room/dining room/open concept kitchen and the renovations they did (pocked doors, bookcases, use of light) and the awesome ceilings really make this place.
Also, he's got plants! And books! What's not to like? Remember that John Waters advices never to fuck anybody who does not have books in his house. It's a rule I've always tried to follow. And it's worked so far. And David has tons of mementos and things that have a story and make good conversation pieces. And that bathroom! I don't know how he keeps that plant alive (those are very resilient, I've had three of those for YEARS!) but the bathroom is awesome.
So, yeah. I watched the whole video and did enjoy the house, but really, that man. I think I have watched Stranger Things because it's a good story but he has really been a joy to follow. He's a good actor and on top of that, he’s absolutely adorable in interviews. He has spoken about mental illness (bipolar disorder, I think), like he did on Colbert and that's a plus. He comes across as centered, mature and self-deprecating. Yes, please. A hunk with a penchant for cool projects and a conscience? Take me now.
And what did you think of the house?
That Antarctica photo
Gratuitous shirtless gif because dadbod.
And as Hellboy
Toodles!

For three thousand dollars one could easily pay the rent for a year or more here in my poor little country :)
ReplyDeleteLoL rent in New York is notoriously high! And the apartments are tiny!
DeleteXoXo
That is one sweet abode. Coming into the home and seeing that awesome bookcase! And I love the ladder and it’s multipurpose for use in the kitchen. With those high ceilings he takes advantage of the additional storage space.
ReplyDeleteAnd the man has that appeal. Yep, another good choice babe. You’re on a roll.
XOXO 👨❤️💋👨
Everything in that house is way too cool!

While the man is yummy, the apartment is giving me architectural wood. There is not one inch of it that I don't love, from the bookcases to the stove to the blackout curtains to that bathroom that I could live in full time.
ReplyDeleteWhere is my winning Lottery ticket when i need it???
Everything. everything is cool and practical and well thought. It’s a renovation, so kudos to whomever did it.
DeleteYeah, where’s that lottery ticket, damnit!

I saw the Hellboy movie and found it very entertaining...didnt think it could be better then the original. Now...there must be something around here David can come fix.
ReplyDeleteAnd on a side note handsome, I've been forced to strip you of 2 princess points for liking the Mariah Carey Christmas song!!!!!!!! Unless of course you want me to just strip you?
I vote for the latter 😎
DeleteYeah, Hellboy was good entertainment. It’s one of my fav comics.
DeleteHahahahaha I know! I like Mimi singing that song! 🤓🤣

Nice place....LOVE the bookshelves. Mine line floor to ceiling of two walls of the office and are crammed with books and music. John Waters is absolutely correct about fucking people who don't read...just don't. He does come across exactly as you've described. I like Stranger Things, been watching since the beginning. (Not liking Eleven with the long hair.) Haven't seen Hellboy - but, then again, I didn't watch the original, either.
ReplyDeleteNow, because you mentioned Bob and his Architectural Wednesdays, I must go check it out!
Oh the ladder certainly gives it that air of library that’s so cool. I also like Stranger Things. And the added nostalgia makes it even better.
DeleteHellboy with him is good. I liked the first movie by Del Toro, of course.

I got 18 seconds into the video AND I WANT HIM TO MARRY ME!
ReplyDeleteOMG girl, same!
DeleteXoXo
So, I wonder why the some of the pictures on the wall were pixelated... nudy stuff? I wonder if he has a plant guy?
ReplyDeleteI think the pixelated artwork it’s either because it’s expensive or because they’re some kind of copyright? I’ve seen it done in other AD videos.
DeleteAnd I could water his plants any day!
