#GRADUATETOGETHER
President Obama gave the commencement speech for the 2020 high school seniors online. I tuned in for the whole thing because I thought it was worth watching. What I did not expect was to get all verklempt watching an intelligent, coherent, articulate government official speak to the people of America.
“Doing what feels good, what’s convenient, what’s easy — that’s how little kids think,” he said during a prime time special for high school seniors.
“Unfortunately, a lot of so-called grown-ups, including some with fancy titles and important jobs, still think that way — which is why things are so screwed up. I hope that instead, you decide to ground yourself in values that last, like honesty, hard work, responsibility, fairness, generosity, respect for others.”

Of course, you can only measure how effective his delivery was by the reaction of IMPOTUS or his minions. And it was glorious because Cheeto melted down -again- and talking heads on Faux News were crying over the whole thing. Mission accomplished, President Obama. It was refreshing and a big contrast having Obama on TV, offering a stark comparison between COVFEFE-19's sputtering, incoherent, bile-filled, off the cuff, third-grade-level rants and a level-headed, intelligent, compassionate, articulate message, like the one Obama gave.
Twitler and his enablers are really afraid of Obama and Biden, not only because in comparison Cheeto sounds and looks more and more wretched, but because when Obama or Biden speak directly to the people of America, there is no way to twist their words and by comparison, the Orange One sounds as deranged and sociopathic as he in fact may be.
So congrats to the 2020 high school seniors who just graduated. Hopefully, none of them reads this blog.

It’s truly amazing how polar opposite these two are. And Obama’s comment is spot in. The current occupant of the White House is infantile and filled with rage. He is impulsive and cannot be trusted to do what is right for the greater good. The entire repuglican party is in lock step. I would say they have sold their souls, but they don’t have any.
ReplyDeleteWe must ensure the repugs lose up and down the entire ballot in November. They flipped a house seat back to red in a California special election. We must get it back in November as well as a lot more and as many senate seats as possible.

Even if Obama didn't say a word, just smiled and waved at the camera, dumpy would have a complete meltdown because he knows that he can never measure up to Obama and that the only people who like dump are people even he would describe as losers.

ReplyDeleteIt's appalling and embarrassing to watch him. He blows up over speeches and a message from Obama, Bush and Carter, since this is going on. Id take back any president in my lifetime in a heat beat.
Get the coffin ready. And no jail for him. 6 ft under suits him much better. I can forget, but never forgive. Some days, I wish we would go in by the thousands and just drag his ass and his family out of the white house. I'm not opposed to the French Revolution days dear.

DeleteI enjoyed the speech thoroughly. I got to stand about 20 feet away from when he came to Harrisburg. Amazing moment. He speaks profoundly well. At no time did he feel the need to say "really, really big."
