Sometimes I just can’t. As Bob posted yesterday, it can get overwhelming. The amount of bullshit we have to sift through every damn day is sometimes too much. But I think the inherent racism behind it needs to be rooted out. By now we have all heard the stories of white women calling the cops on Black people, especially men, especially that last one in Central Park that went viral and costed the woman who made the call her job. But that's just the latest in a series (Emmet Till, anyone?). The thing is, in this era of cell phones and video cameras we can get some first hand evidence of how the Police actually treats Black people and the people who call the police on them. Now they cannot hide.

Every day there's more and more examples of this kind of entitlement, this kind of mentality that basically denies that there's a problem with policing in this country. The following visualization is not without its detractors but it gives an image of what happens when the police targets black people.

Oh, and in case you were wondering if those calls can be lethal...

And there's impunity running rampant because the police seldom gets hold accountable. What can we do, you'd ask? Well, it's an ongoing process. Things are not going to change overnight. Not after more than four hundred years. But it's a start...

As Anne Marie reminds us:

"Keep believing. Keep marching. Keep building. Keep raising your voice. Every generation has the opportunity to remake the world.” - Barack Obama, July 2018

I miss having a real president . All we have now is a clown with delusions of grandeur.

  2. I do hope this is a watershed moment in American history. If not now, when. Most of the American people have woken up to this stain on like in the US. But action must be taken now because the turd in the WH is working feverishly to change the narrative. We must keep the heat on. “Keep believing.”

    1. It should be a defining moment. That's for sure.
The relentless destruction of the progress made by previous administrations by the Cheeto presidency needs to be stopped.

    1. Never.
Change does not come easily or fast. There's a chance to change things in November. We should not lose sight of that.

  4. I think the most compelling tell in all of this are the people initiating the police call. That's where I think we should really be rutting about, getting to the bottom of the irrational fear that causes someone to call for help because they are afraid of someone who is 'other'. I think the race police should show up and arrest the caller. The court should order them to attend some kind of program for racists, in order to help them to evolve. And it should be part of their permanent record... good luck getting a job once you're labeled a racist.

    1. Americans have always been afraid of someone or something. Especially white America. There's some kind of underlying anxiety tied to progress or change that does not let some people live. And you are right. People who make stupid calls on other people who are just living their lives should be arrested.

  5. thanks for the shout-out, luv. not all of us white people are racist, but the cell phone culture has shown us who the racists are. and they are butt-fucking UGLY to the bone! the racists deserve to lose their jobs. remember this on November 3rd, and vote the orange fuckturd racist OUT!

    1. Oh, Anne Marie. That quote has kept me optimistic for a long time!
Racism IS ugly. And so are the racists. And so is Cheeto.
Voting him out is indeed a necessity.

  6. I cannot understand why, if a police officer kills someone who is NOT an imminent threat ...George Floyd ... how they cannot be charged with a crime.
That is giving people a license to murder and that is all kinds of wrong.
And for those poor people who feel the need to call the police because Black people are eating in the park, or a Filipino man is writing in chalk on a wall .... or a Black man is telling you to leash your dog ... or a Mexican woman is speaking Spanish, I offer a small bit of advice: knock it the fuck off.

    1. Oh, it's the way policing was created in this country. Remember it was started to go after runaway slaves. The more things change, the more they stay the same. And the thin blue line protects more than the fallen. It protects the police from being policed.
Also, wyt ppl are gonna be white. Their racism is telling.

  7. The news of late is too much. Between the racism, the mask wearing to wear or not to wear and the great fucking pieces of shit in the White and all his staff, especially the smug cunt Kaiylne LiesSoMuch who'd I like to punch right in the face, I may have to stop watching news again. I can feel the anger and temper rising again. When you have scenarios in your head on how to take out Mary Hart it's time to stop. My hope is the virus will go full on force and take out the idiots...including the fucking idiots in the huge dance party in fire island over the weekend. That was actually appalling to see. God forbid they can't go clubbing or go without a fuck for once. And the beach scenes and waterways were insane. Because of all these issues and the grand wizard running things...Ive said it before...good thing im not a goddess or higher power....I would not be as forgiving or patience . I would be one vengeful bitch. And i still am not sold this racism and police brutality will go away....still not sold trump will lose in November. I sure hope he does. I will not survive another four years of him.

    2. Oh, honey. If we weren't angry, that would be a sign that we are not alive. There's so much fuckery going on that sometimes I wonder how it is possible to process it all. And you are not wrong, the virus may Darwin its way through the Red states and take out more than one stupid idiot.
Oh, do not get me started with the stupid, dumb gays in Fire Island. Vacationing in the middle of a pandemic? When I saw the photos and videos I was LIVID. Privileged gays are the worst.
And I keep thinking that we may be able to beat the Corrupt Clown in the White House. We have to stay vigilant and VOTE.

  8. What I don't understand is, is the power of the Police Union? The cop shoots and kills someone then is fired by the police dept then works for the police department in a neighboring city or state. This just does not connect with me.

I always wonder what a policeman would be qualified for if he changed careers? McDonalds??? Walmart shelf stocker?

    1. Oh, they have always protected their own. That's why they feel invincible and untouchable. They are just relocated or put 'on paid leave'. It's the same system that allowed priests to abuse millions of people with impunity for a long, long time.

And a policeman has no future outside of policing. Most go into private policing and become 'security guards'. That tells you all you need to know about their psyche and qualifications.

    2. And a lot of the “mom and pop” security guard companies are started by former police officers. There are some good companies out there but a lot of fly by night shady ones too.
