OTP eight.

Joe Lee and his boyfriend seem to me to be some sort of avatar for Gay Millennial Couples. They are both adorable and really give off a vibe of togetherness. As far as I know, Joe's BF was studying to be a Chef and Joe is an entrepreneur of sorts, doing physical training and now thinking about starting a sustainable clothing line. More Millennial, impossible. I kind of dig their philosophy of life and their approach to their relationship. They seem to share equally their duties at home and play to their strengths. And they have an adorable doggie that goes with them in cute little walks and plays with his fav dog toy on the sofa.

I ran into Joe a while ago because at that time I was into minimalism and the such and I enjoyed watching people giving tips left and right about how to live better with less.  That didn't last long because I have kind of given in to the consumerism that eats up America, natch. So I watched Joe, who had these vlogs in his YouTube channel about doing minimalism and about organizing your life and whatnot. He is handsome, so I kept watching. I know, I like handsome men talking to me online. One thing I noticed was that he seldom talked about his private life, even though it was obvious sometimes he had a roomie. I didn't make anything of it, because many bloggers (especially those in big cities) live with someone and they don't include the roomies in the vlogs.

But one day he was doing an AMA from IG and he kind of went around the question about relationships and who he was interested in a little bit evasively. And I kind of smelled the gay. And I was not wrong. Suddenly, one day it was Joe and the BF and the doggie all moving out of their tiny apartment into a slightly bigger one. And we got a glimpse of the new apartment in Vancouver, I think. And we saw the cute boyfriend. Why didn't he mention the BF before? Who knows? He was sharing enough of him online, I guess. Whatever the reason, I like the boyfriend. He's all arms and legs and he's tall and has a cute smile and lumbers over Joe, who's more compact and athletic. They both go shopping and walk the dog and exercise together and I live vicariously through them. It's a new kind of couple, these guys who live part of their lives online, allowing us to live vicariously through them. It's like watching an unscripted reality show, I guess. It feeds into our inner voyeur.

I don't know what motivated Joe to bring the BF to the forefront, but I'm glad he did it. It's good to see gay men being open and honest about their relationships and to have some mirrors to look at ourselves once in awhile. And they're super cute together. What's not to like?

XOXO

They're like two boy scouts that grew up to be boyfriends!

  2. Well, wouldn't you want to slip them into a man purse and carry them around all day.

    1. Oh, honey.
I want to do things with them, but putting them in a man purse is not one of them! LOL

  3. The dog is adorable. The BF is adorable. I agree with the BF - $14-$16 is not worth it just to able to say you had it. That makes him seem like he's trying to be one of those "influencers" we're hearing about these days. I know, he didn't do an actual ad, but still.... Maybe I'm just getting old. LOL XOXO

    1. Aren't they adorable?
And the BF seems to be very mature. And no, you're not getting old, many of these YouTube people do some kind of paid 'promotion'. YouTube is a business model. Nothing is free.

  4. I guess I can see why one might like this sort of thing. They are pretty. In a pretty world. Me? I am not a reality TV person. And 'influencers' have my eyes rolling before they open their mouths. I know! Dismissive lil beyotch, ain't I? I get that they want to make money for simply existing, cashing in on the physical gifts the universe gave them (wouldn't we all). But the ego it takes to do that? I find it off-putting. And I can't support it. It's a form of social media welfare. Yeah... Lifestyle porn does nothing for me. But you? You enjoy. Kizzes.

    1. Oh, absolutely.
These people on YouTube are usually very charming and good looking. That's why we watch them walk their dogs or cook or exercise. 'Reality TV' and 'Influencers' are the product of the democratization of fame.
And the thing is, some do get paid for these things but they pay with their privacy. As I have mentioned before, nothing is free. I think that their role is more of a social one: normalize gay lives. Did you ever think in 1981 that you'd watch two gay guys get out of bed and go walk their dog like it's the most natural and pedestrian thing in the world? Here we are, forty years later and it's so common you find it off-putting. Progress?

It's a mystery to me when people have big dogs in small apartments. One, the doggie needs to be very well trained. Two, they need to have a dog walking schedule set up in stone!

  6. Finally! I got in. There was no adult check to stop me.

What a cute couple of guys. And, agree with their philosophy about xmas. Make it an experience and not a designer gift event. It makes me think of George Carlin and his "Stuff" routine. lol

Oh, and the dog laying his head over the guys waist at the end of the video was adorable. What a face! You can tell there is luv in that house.

Enjoy your freedom! Actually, it may be that your browser already had the cookies for this site and you didn't find the banner. Who knows? I publish too much dick on this blog to not have the disclaimer. We don't want Google to shut me down.
And I think that their idea of keeping it personal is really cool. They seem pretty centered. And they do project love and comfort. So refreshing. That's why they're my OTP this time.

  7. Awwwwww they are cute. I guess it's a case of when it's the right time. When i was with the ex....he don't want any mention on my blog...although one or twice he did a post or two...other wanted left off....only known as the Boy Toy.

    1. Totally adorable. I agree.
And you know that some men are just not ready to be this public. You know that there'll be many eyes on them and the pressure is big.
I kind of admire gay men that do their thing for all the world to see. I also thank them, because I know there's a gay kid somewhere watching Joe and his BF talk about xmas or walk the dog and feels less lonely. More hopeful. It does get better.

And the BF works as a cook. Joe works as a trainer. They both work with the public. This is their 'other' job.

  9. They are a cute couple. The young ones are all about living their lives online. Some are more public than others. Who would have thought 30 years ago that you could make a living thus way? Shocking!

And younger and younger generations of gay and straight people live more and more of their lives online, that's true. And I was just telling Upton that forty years ago watching two men do this was unthinkable. Let alone make some money while doing it.

  10. We need more people like this as this gives me hope for our future. I just saw some 25-year-old blow up the news because she got kicked out of a basketball for talking shit to LeBron James. Why do we care about these people? Take care, Sixpence.

    1. We do need more representation!
I think one of the reasons the Religious Wrong has lost so many battles against TeH GheEyZ is because we are more visible now that let's say 1971. It's difficult to demonize people who are so... common.
And you know that everybody wants to have their fifteen minutes of fame. Or infamy.
