OTP nine
Ok, so everything started innocently enough: I was checking ARTISTSALEM on Insta at the insistence of a friend from my Tumblr days when I noticed a name that seemed familiar: Alex Mecum. It was all I needed to go down the rabbit hole. Alex Mecum, if you don't know, is a well-known gay Porn actor. Very hunky and very handsome. That, of course took me to his Insta and then I discovered he’s married to Carter Dane, who’s equally handsome and equally known as a porn actor. Bingo!
The best part was that they have bought Salem's artwork (which I covet, BTW) and had gone ahead and recreated it! Now, how cool is that? Carter was the angel and Alex the merman. I literally fainted.
It's the small things, am I right? I really like when porn stars have an Insta, BTW. The content is very different to their Twitter accounts (Instagram is VERY prudish and censors the least indication of queer sex). Alex's Insta is super cute and Carter's is very introspective. Also, notice how they basically give shout out at each other's and their marriage. So sweet!
I had no idea Alex Mecum and Carter Dane were a couple. We always look at these beautiful men and get a raise out of their sex-appeal but seldom think of them as well, just two men. And I'm here to correct that. I have proclaimed myself the Porn-Star-Equalizer (well, me and Upton, who writes about gay porn stars from the past) and I have decided that we need to normalize being a gay porn star.
Also, I think it's important to listen to them because who knows more about sex than a sex worker? Take for example Alex's opinion about being in a relationship while being a porn star:
