KINKS AT PRIDE 🏳‍🌈

Oh. Hello. So Pride is the word of the day. It's June and everybody and their aunt talk about 'Pride'. But for some people this is a very limited 'Pride'. It's a Pride that needs to be 'family friendly'. It's a Pride that should not offend anybody. And by 'anybody' they mean 'the normals'. It's a Pride that needs to be sanitized and homogenized (no pun) in order to be as bland as possible, so big companies can sell their 'Pride swag' and send their floats to the Pride parade for the straights to smile benignly and nod their approval. This is a 'Pride' that needs the leather daddies and the topless lesbians to tame it down.  Or not show at all. They should not risk infuriating anybody.

Well, fuck that, as Anne Marie would say. Gay Pride was created as a sexual liberation movement. Liberation from being considered a freak. Liberation from being considered mentally ill. Liberation from oppression and the requirement to conform to heteronormativity. Liberation from having to have penis in vagina sex to be considered human. Liberation from having to have three items of clothing conforming to your gender so you would not get dragged to jail. Liberation from being told that fucking another man was wrong. Liberation from not being 'normal'. That's something that the 'straight-acting' gays never really had to go through, right? They were just worried that if somebody would catch them getting fucked by some guy in some dingy public bathroom they'd be ruined. They were 'normal' and able to blend in with the heterosexuals just fine, thankyouverymuch. They just liked to have their dick sucked by other men. Details.

The fems, the trans girls, the kinksters, the non-conforming, the politically aware, they all threw themselves into Pride celebrations because for them Pride meant freedom to be who they were. And they could not 'pass' because they did not have the privilege to just blend in. Their hair was too long, their pants were too tight, their sexual proclivities and their political views made them freaks. Pride is indeed for the leather daddies walking a pup in a leash. Pride is for the topless lesbians in huge motorcycles telling the patriarchy to fuck off. Pride is for the kinksters in vinyl, for the furries, for the fetishists. Pride is for the cross-dressers and the bearded nuns. Pride is for the go-go boys in tiny Speedos dancing with oblivion on top of a float. Pride is the freedom to express who you are and who (and how) you want to fuck. That is Pride.

Pride is not an event that we need Target to sponsor. Pride does not need that Fifth Third Bank float. Pride is not meant to be an event for us to tell the world we are just 'like everybody else'. We are fabulous and free and their approval is not needed or requested. Pride is not an event to bring ten year olds to. And if you bring a ten-year-old to Pride, you should be ready to explain why the nice man in assless chaps and nipple piercings is pouring water in a dog bowl for his  'friend' to drink. Pride is the month to feel free to tell the world that you like to fuck men (or women or both) without having to make sure you mince your words so the heterosexuals don't get disgusted. Because they will still ask you 'who is the man?' when you talk about your partner/fuck buddy/husband. They will still consider you a fudge packer. You will still have to explain sometimes that theres's no 'man' and no 'woman' in your relationship. Pride means that you don't have to explain or excuse the fact that you are indeed, a sexual being.  After all, there's no bad way to get a blowjob from the man you like and no, taking it up the ass is not icky. It's fucking fantastic. Pride covers all that and more.

LUKEETHORNHILL

Yes, The video is right. That hot pink color in the Pride flag meant 'sex' liberation. As in free to have sex with whomever I want in whichever way I want. Being sexual is part of who we are. Pride is not the time to wear your khakis and your blue button down shirt. You could, if you want. But if that's what you wear everyday, I'm almost sure you're not in danger of being beaten up because you look 'too gay'. I'm almost totally positive that you were not bullied in school for dyeing your hair some unholy shade of blond. Pride is for the freaks, the non-conforming, the bold and the beautiful. Pride is not for the straights (or the straight-acting). They already have the rest of the year for themselves.

So yeah, let the kinksters be themselves during Pride. They ARE part of Pride, along with the drag queens and the baby dykes and the fem boys in thigh-high platform boots and Daisy Dukes and everybody in between. Pride is the time to get your freak on with abandon. That's why those Trans women of color threw the first brick, remember? That's why queer people in 1969 got beaten up by the police. That's why we have Pride. We don't have Pride to please the straights. We have Pride to celebrate that we can be ourselves. Kinks and all.

Happy Pride, y'all!

  1. Pride is everything, for everybody. Don't sanitize it, because there's room for everyone.

    1. personally, for me, the PRIDE means nothing, because I have never gone to a march and I am not interested in going there. But I'm glad there is. I think it is right to give some visibility to people who lived in the catacombs up to 50 years ago.

    2. Correct.
Pride is for everybody who identifies as LGBTQ. No matter how they express their sexuality. It's a celebration of their existence.

  2. Pride is to solidify place. Place in the world. Place in society. Pride is to say, "We belong." We belong to the human race. We laugh, we cry, we cringe, we rage, we hurt, we bleed. Just like every-fucking-body else.
But, bottom line: We may not need that Target or Fifth Third Bank float in the parade, but we do need that corporation to say to the rest of the world, "You know what? Their money spends, too. So we will defend their right to ass-fuck, clit-lick, or cock-suck whomever they choose." If getting that support takes them paying to sponsor Pride, so be it. Take it. Take it with a big old Pride Smile.

    Happy Pride Month, Six. XOXO

    1. I agree that Pride solidifies the LGBTQ community and its place in society.
Corporations can keep their floats. What they need to do is implement change both within themselves and outside to include LGBTQ people before Pride starts and after it ends. Their floats mean nothing if they donate to homophobes and bigots after they offered a token rainbow during Pride.

      Happy Pride, Big.

  3. The only real mutually-agreed restriction on Canadian Pride Parades is no public nudity. But otherwise, all aspects of the community are there marching, including the BDSM community and the puppy players. In the past few years, it's police and military gays who have been excluded, not kinksters. But there's a place for "regular gays" too, as there should be. Sexual freedom does not have to mean only kink.

    1. Oh yeah, the other group that got excluded early on in Canadian Pride Parades was NAMBLA and quite rightly so.

    2. And the key word is 'mutually'.
If both the parade goers and the community agree that nudity is a no-no, then be it. I don't care about nudity (even though I'm partial to many, many go-go boys dancing everywhere). The BDSM community should be there, as well as the puppy players. That's what the video is about.
And the 'regular' gays are there, too. Not that they need to celebrate being regular, but hey.

      *barf* NAMBLA

  4. I agree with no public nudity. It's supposed to be a demonstration of Pride and that means mutual respect for everybody. And let's be honest, there are certain types of kink that offend just about everybody. You don't earn respect by having people laugh at you.

    1. One man's kink is another man's vanilla.
And fuck respect. I don't need respect from the straights. I need them to stay out of my bedroom.

  5. As you know I love kink. I saw lots of orange hankies on The Drive the other night. But, I'm with Ann Northrop about police presence (protection) for the Pride festival. Being 'guarded' by the oppressors does not fly with me. Also, (and I think it is my age) I believe in separation of straights and gays. I love my gay community and will not support a straight owned businesses in Wilton Manors if I can.

BTW, my fav kink blog is John Dee Cooper's Blog.

    1. I did read about the opposition to Police presence. I think I agree with your and Anne there. And I kind of also agree with the separation of straight and gay. I also support LGBTQ owned businesses over straight-owned ones.
And I will have to check that blog! What's the link?

  6. Bunny and I were talking about pride a couple years ago. The gays should be ashamed what pride has become. Clean version or dirty version. It seems it has become just a excuse to be a big dance drinking party or sex parties....and in some cities another excuse for yet another "circuit party" for the insta gays. While i don't attend pride festivals like i used to....I admit they don't have the same feel anymore. The last one I attended was World Pride...the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and it really captured the essence of gay pride...seemed more about protest and acceptance.... and hadn't felt that in ages. Course it was nice meeting Pete and Chasten in the Stonewall!!!! Who knew!!! Prides need to get back to their basics. Our forequeens would be disappointed to see the horse and pony show it has become. I feel big companies should have no right to any claim to being their either. Fuck them and their "support" at the gay Christmas time. Its sad when a our charitable and gay organisations are secondary vendors, or not even visited... over the sex toys and clothing vendors at the festival. I'm all for some drinks and dancing in the club's...but many have forgot the real purpose of the festival and pride parades.

    1. Preach! Pride as a gesture is an empty one.
I agree with you, they're not what they used to be. It's all about big corporations and empty gestures like circuit parties. Pride is an expression of protest. I'd rather have a politically charged Pride than one full of Instagays and people who do not give a rat's ass about me trying to sell me shit.
Hahaha Gay Christmas Time is right. Companies should have inclusion policies that help LGBTQ people, not a float in a one-day celebration. Our attention should go to those charitable and gay organizations.

  7. That is not pride, it is porn. I have traveled too far and suffered too many losses . Do not mistake sexuality for pride. If you think me and him were about sex, you have missed the whole point. There is a lot more. Why don't you show some some "straight " people fucking? I object to the way you call this pride. Yes i am happy for "Pride Month", but i was born this way and i don't like to jack off in public.

    1. Maybe i am too much of a prude. It all seems so shallow and "look at me " kind of thing. Just like the straights. The whole culture is corrupt and i probably should have been a monk.
Meanwhile i will celebrate this "Pride" because they protect me.

  8. Oh! I volunteer to go next in the round swing thing! Me! I'm with you. So, I hate Target and their presence at Pride. All the corps bore me... I don't care what they give away or how 'friendly' they are... Pride is not about them. It's about all our freek flags. They all need to fly. I used to be prissy about stuff... oh, that many should not be wearing a leather kilt! Oh, that boy mincing about in a bikini, how embarrassing. NOW? Honey... it's all kink. Those gym bunnies? Kink. All that pumped up bullshit flesh? That's their kink. The nerd boy in glasses wearing black socks and sandals. Kink. It's all kink. I could write a list, but you get it. And we all should be celebrated... especially THIS year. What we have gone through, and not just Covid, but the whole orange ogre and rise of the Gestapo. Pride is our opportunity to throw all that off and throw our freek in their faces. Yes... aggressive. But, hey... we have put up their sh*t long enough, dears. Kizzes to you for sharing this today. I heart big time. Enjoy and HAPPY PRIDE!

    1. Same.
All the corps bore me to death. They become all rainbows and empty gestures for a month. Then? Nothing. That's not an Ally. That's corporate greed.
And I think you did get the meaning of the post (and the video). Pride is about letting your freak fly: the muscle boys, the Drag Queens, the leather daddies, the nerdy boy. It's all kink. As I said, one man's kink is another man's vanilla. There's no room for embarrassment or judgement.
Judgemental gays make me stabby. I want to slap them. Hard.

      Happy Pride, Upton!

  9. I can agree on where the Mistress is coming from, with it seemingly becoming just a excuse to be a big dance, drinking party, or sex parties. We sadly have many friends, mention when Pride rolls around , how many times they can get laid or how many orgies they can find. That is sad. Here it's an event to see and be seen, an another good time. I'm far from old, but many of the new generation and even mine, have no idea it's meaning.

That said, all parts of the community should be represented after all.

As big a male slut I'm am though, don't think it's the place for live sex acts . After all, that's what Folsom is for here.

    1. Yep.
Pride has lost its political edge. Don't get me wrong, sex can be political, and BEING at Pride is a political statement, whether they are letting their freak fly or not. Pride is not a photo op or an excuse for sex parties. And Pride is NOT for live sex acts. That's not what this post or the video are about. It's a celebration of not being considered mentally ill anymore. It's a celebration of being.
Pride is for ALL of the LGBTQ community, not just the ones that do not offend the prudes. If someone wants to walk twenty blocks in full leather or in a vinyl onesie, more power to them.

      XOXO
