I like Matt and Blue. Basically because I HAVE dated Blue. Well, not dated Blue, but men who are quintessentially like Blue: kind of Alpha, with swagger. BDE. Good with tools. Reliable. And I know where Matt is coming from, too. I think they've balanced well what they do online (they became YouTubers during a hiatus in their lives) and what they do offline. I like their brand of real-down-to-earth-gays. It's refreshing.

I also like that they do their product placement kind of naturally and that they talk about their life as is. It's pretty unvarnished (or as unvarnished as some editing can be) and that's fun, coming from two very handsome men in their prime. No gratuitous abs. When we get a glimpse of a treasure trail or a bicep, it's because they're working outside or in their house. I get weak every time, too.

But one of the things that makes them special is that they don't hide the fact that they are politically aware. Theirs is not a channel for gay repugs (barf) and it's clear from the beginning. They have always made a point to tell us that they are Dems and very liberal. I like that. They have been through some issues because they have kind of lived in the middle of nowhere since they got married and adopted a child. That's why I give them clicks. I like people who are not afraid of making sure they spouse a set of precepts but they explain why is it that they do what they do. Well, also because I do have a mental image of them together and it WORKS.

This time they're encouraging people to vote and I want to add my voice to theirs: VOTE, damnit! The Repugs are gerrymandering the country to suppress voting. It's the only way they'll stay in power. But you can help. You can vote them out of office and elect Dems. Not like Sinema, please. There's 35 states who are getting a new governor next year. One of them cours be yours. Make sure you vote Democrat.

Oh, why do I know you are a Dem? Because no Repugs read this blog. Because I despise Repugs and I abhor gay Repugs. If you are a Cabinette, please fuck right off and never, ever come back. I don't need you. Oh, and may you never get fucked ever again in your life, if you are a Rethug. *evil eye*

Happy Pride!
Happy LGBTQ+ month!

XOXO

If you are not 'on' to what some YouTubers are saying about what's going on in America, here John Oliver discusses the current attacks on voting rights, who’s behind them, and what we can do about it. Just in case.

And go VOTE!

  1. It’s refreshing to see members of the younger generation politically aware. And I believe studies show that many of them lean left. But as always, the challenge is to get them to the polling places. And with younger influencers I hope they can encourage them to get out there. It is their freedoms that are on the line.

We also need to stet better at vetting candidates (see Sinema above). She was the darling of the senate when she was elected, but really turned into a corporate whore.

    1. I think your right Huntley. We need far better vetting and more detailed vetting. I could probably count on my two hands the true and good candidates of both parties on my ten digits. I hate to say it but I wish Sinema and Manchin would both get replaced. I think 80% or higher all seem to be corp whores anymore...which is why the important nuts and bolts issues that should pass or not getting done. It's as thought DC wants to hold back the middle class. If some of the issues I want to get resolved don't, I will be voting for all new candidates. I'm tired of polictians running on issues, then drop them as soon as the new party is in office.

    2. Amen, Huntley. Amen.
I heard that Simena is taking some real heat from her constituents. It's about time people woke the fuck up.

    3. Absolutely.
That's why I'm always here, sounding the alarm. Because people think only the 'big' elections count. Well, no. EVERY election counts. Especially now.

  2. I watch them from time to time, in fact I've subscribed to their channel. Sometimes their episodes are really good, others seem to be staged, and not necessarily to get across a point. Both are attractive and they know it.

They are entertaining and I've always liked Matt. Their adventures are fun.
And of course both know they're attractive. Only a blind man would deny that.

  3. CAST A GODDAMNED VOTE.

Say it for the folks in the back.
And what Huntley said. Know who is getting your vote, and when they turn out Sinema, work your ass off to get these hypocrites out of office.

I'll forever be here standing on my little bullhorn screaming for the back rows to hear me. Sinema has got on my last fucking nerve now. She needs to be voted out.

  4. I used to watch them here and there, but one of their videos goes a long way with me. Im not sure I ever made it through a whole video. After some time I lose patience and they begin to get on my gay nerve. But they good people overall. And yes vote. I am getting very worried again, extremely worried. I am seeing the dems , Im not even sure what to call it...but they are not all on the same page, and I fear Biden is losing them. Too many are starting to get testy with he and Nancy. That won't be good. I can't do another GQP term. I am still so disgusted from the last one and we still don't seem to be getting on track. With our numbers, and those who switched parties, can't make this work, and can't stay in office, we will only have ourselves to blame for a very bad blunder.

    1. You're right, Maddie. Sinema and Manchin are causing a lot of distress. I'm not a big Bernie fan, but he's right when he called them out yesterday. Those two are helping the Turtle and the Rethuglicans.

    2. Hahaha
I like them. I really enjoy their banter because they do butt heads.
And I am also worried again. The Repugs are pulling all the moves to restrict voting. When people showed en masse to vote for and against Cheeto they saw the power people had. They rigged everything and still lost. Now they'll do anything to stop people from going to the polls.
And the Dems need to grow a pair. Politics is a difficult game when you want to do good.

  5. Oh, we vote. In EVERY election. I've been saying for a decade that local elections matter even more than state or federal ones. We'll be voting for Gov next year and, believe me, we've got some very, very, VERY nasty, disgusting and downright gross Trumpettes running. (barf!).

It's great those two are politically aware and active. We def need more of that. The Dems are losing steam. The Turtle is wreaking havoc playing games with people's livelihoods and lives. We need to get more Dems in office from Dog-Catcher on up to both houses of Congress. XOXO

I despise Bitch McConnell. Really. He needs to fucking go.

  6. I support voting. My district is voting for school board members. And I'm told that winning has often come down to single digits. So yes, my vote will count!

Any position is important. Any position. People forget the crazy starts at the bottom of the food chain for politicians. And you know it's gonna get worse with repugs trying to tip the balance on the their favor from now on.

  7. Oh Sixpence I am not ready for election season but you are right and we need to get out there and vote. I can't believe I didn't fool you about my political leanings. I do live in Idaho but I am a blue boy in a red state. We have some really lunatics running for governor next year so at least it will be entertaining but also a little scary that these idiots even get a chance to share their viewpoints. Take care and thanks for the reminder about the importance of voting.

    1. Nobody is, Mr. Shife.
I think Agolf Twitler gave us all PTSD when it comes to politics. But the struggle does not end when the one Orange Monster is relegated to Mar-A-Cheeto. You need to help keep all those lunatics away from any position of power.
And don't worry. You know I'm gonna get on my tiny soapbox and scream at people to vote several times a year.

  8. Planning on going to vote. Our City Council is a mess, honey... and we need to kick them all out. Plus, lots of hot button policy changes on the ballot... gonna do the right thing. So... these two. I get the appeal. And yes, they're 'real.' ?? Really? Naw. Well, influencers aren't my thing anyway. I hope they go the way of Facebook and make like pet rocks and disappear. Kizzzes.

People think they only have to vote for president, but nothing's further from the truth: even voting for fucking dog catcher is important. Voting is a right. People forget that.

In Italy we have the same problem. People vote less and less. In the last administrative elections (10 days ago) less than 50% of the voters voted (I specify that I voted). The causes are two, connected to each other:
    1. the poverty of politics, morality and competence of the politicians who ask for our vote.
    2. the feeling of powerlessness of the population, who have the feeling of being irrelevant, even if they vote.

The first time in 1993 , in Italy, when the mayors were elected directly and not by their council, the participation in the vote was 75%. We are now below 50%.
