I’ll show you mine, again.
Ok, so here's the thing: last time when I posted about my basement garden apartment, you guys noticed that there was an accent wall and I decided to make sure that it stood out. So I moved all the furniture around and now that wall is the focal point in my sitting room. I think that back when I posted about my place the color palette was more on a neutral tone, so I decided that if I was gonna move things around, I needed to spice things up too, given that winter is coming and I'm going to be indoors most of the time. Winter gets to me, somehow. And when all that snow starts falling, I need some motivation indoors.
The little reading chair (I fucking love this chair, it's one of the most comfortable things IKEA has) also went through some retrofitting. It was a shade of gray, like the sofa, and now it's black, and I like it. I also did the color thing and got it its own lumbar cushion because why the hell not. All the other stuff was in other parts of the house (the black round table with the zillion candles was next to the sofa before and the rolling shelves were near the pantry). Now I have a new reading corner and I like it. I pamper myself like that.
XOXO
I love the splash of colors you’ve added. I think it will help a lot with the coming winter. Thanksgiving was a very dreary day (at least up north) and the colors really brighten the room.
ReplyDeleteGreat job babe. You’ve got quite an eye. And other parts 😜
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
I know, right?
DeleteWinter always kind of drains me with all that cold and all that mud. I was weary of all that color, but now I'm happy with it.
And you silver tongued bandit, you...!
XOXO
I love the wall of photos and art, as well as the reading chair; who doesn't love a reading chair? And all the plants!!
ReplyDeleteAnd every room needs a splash of color,
Aww thnx!
DeleteI love that wall, too. So many memories.
And a reading chair is what? FUNDAMENTAL! LOL
Yep, every room needs a splash of color. And plants.
XOXO
I liked it before.....but wow now!!!!! Now it all comes together for a huge wow focal point instead of small several ones. And yes ...a pop of color always helps.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note....i just made a trip to the Ikea here, for a friend to get some things he wanted since Harrisburg doesn't have one..and it reaffirmed my dislike of the place. This one was even bigger...i was so completely confused as to where stuff was...and came out anxiety ridden. The check was a nightmare not to mention the traffic getting in and out of the parking lot. At least people were masked. I should be good now for another 25 years.
*faints*
DeleteI'm so proud you like it! You guys were right: I was kind of missing the chance of showcasing that gallery wall and now it looks so much better. I was not sure about the color, but it does make everything so much more alive!
LOL the manfriend also despises going to Ikea. He thinks it's a labyrinth and swears they need to make it more like a supermarket. I love mine and go at least once a year because I have got to visit the As Is looking for deals. And I love their cookies.
XOXO
The color is great! Love it. I surround myself with color (and dogs).
ReplyDeleteHahaha
DeleteThanks, Dave! I think I'm enjoying all that color.
XOXO
I Love it! Are you sure you're not really Nate Burkas?
ReplyDeleteAww thanx, Jimmy!
DeleteOh, and I wish I were Nate! Love his style!
I wanted some of the stuff he made with Target but the suburban housewives were rabid and raided the place for goodies before I went.
XOXO
Looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra!
DeleteXOXO
A little color makes all the difference. Feather your nest.
ReplyDeleteI know right?
DeleteWho knew? I tend to be somehow sedated when it comes to my sitting room but now I think I'm going to keep this for awhile...
XOXO
wso nice home!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Xersex!
DeleteI'm very happy with the final result.
XOXO
Your apartment is so chic! The little colour splashes make it brighter, and are rather joyous, so I hope they help you through the winter.
ReplyDeleteI love the reading area with plants next to the window - I'd have MASSIVE plants if I had somewhere like that to relax.
Thank you!
DeleteI could not believe what a little color could do. Now that all the leaves are gone it does work wonders . And I really like those plants too! I don't get loads of light, but I have managed to keep those plants alive!
XOXO
Wow. You do so much with your space. This is just lovely. Adore the splashes of color throughout. Bravo. You... you could teach me a thing or two! Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Upton!
DeleteFor like, three seconds I thought the sofa was too much and then I said to myself: It's fun! And so it stayed. I love my space.
