C'mon Baby, Cry

You know by now I have a soft spot for Orville Peck. Men with deep voices and long legs are my Kryptonite, natch. And every time he puts out a song, you know it's going to end up on this blog, because of course it will.

This song is still as twangy as some of his previous songs and I like it. It’s kind of cinematic and I feel like playing it in my car when driving. I also liked the bar setting and the self-deprecating part of having bottles hurled at him (I'd cut a bitch if they would EVER dare do that in my presence). The obvious object of his affection is also a very handsome man and that would put any video in my watch list (because of course I love it when men sing to another men love songs). Asking a man to be vulnerable is definitely in my list of romantic things to do, too. Cause why not?

Orville is gonna put out a new Album, Bronco, in April and he's dropped some songs as a tease. Oh, you can tease me any time, Orville....

"I can tell you're sad, boy. Just like me".

P.S. Yes, those are Margaret Cho and Kornbread in the video.

P.P.S. @ORVILLEPECK is going on tour! *squee*

  1. Nice. I like it. I know everyone needs a gimmick to get noticed. Think Lady Gaga and her crazy shenanigans with being carried onto the stage in an egg, the meat dress. But, you want to be taken serious for the long haul - you need to shed it. IMO, he needs to get rid of the fringe mask. XOXO

    1. I think he's fab.
And yes, the mask. It's been his thing since forever. He used to be in a Punk band, though, and people do know how he looks like. I find it fascinating.

    1. Oh, yes, I DO!
The deeper the voice, the stronger the tingle to mingle.
And I really like this direction he's going.

  3. He reminds me of Roy Orbison, who I adore and hear in others, like Emmylou Harris and Sara Bareilles. He's kind of the Lady Gaga of country, huh? OR the SIA of country! Nice song. And I agree about his voice (and the long legs.) I kind of hope he's ugly under that mask. Maybe a snaggle tooth. Then he can be mine forever. :)

That's true. Never thought of that!
And I think he's actually handsome underneath the mask, natch. Dave told me he's seen him, I think. He used to be in a punk band.

I think we Orville fans (Orvilleans?) need to unite.

  6. I have tried and tried to like him and get into him and listen... and it is not happening. I'm surprised he hasn't been on country music or awards shows yet. Or has he?

Now, if you give me TJ Osborne... my clothes will hit the floor and I'll bend over yesterday......

It's that country thing, maybe. I have friends who think he's interesting but just can't with the music. And TJ Osborne is a snack!
