SUMMER SQUARED

I'm ready for summer. And DSQUARED2 has some of the clothes that would definitely make my summer. I am more than ready to shed the heavy layers and the ties. It's gonna be a summer of shorts and big t-shirts and boots. Kind of grunge-meets-punk-meets-pixie. Yep. That's gonna be my spring-summer look. And where does this kind of madness comes from, you'd ask?

Well, you're going to have to blame Huntley for it. You see, for my birthday in March, he sent me a gift card. And it took me all of a weekend to go spend that money in... clothes. And what did I find? A very cool Nirvana t-shirt and a pair of black shorts. Yeah, I'm single handedly bringing grunge back. Kidding! But that's gonna be the basis for everything I wear this summer. I'm going to be working from home (Yay! Right up my alley, especially with the Monkeypox fuckery going around now) so I will be able to literally wear whatever the fuck I want. Videoconferences be damned.

I'm loving this grunge-meets-pixie aesthetic. I'm beginning to think that most of the stuff I do is related to music. Maybe because in my head most every mood kind of relates to a music style and that's reflected in what I wear. I like the idea of having a soundtrack for my life. And that's kind of what I felt when I watched this collection. Like a mid-nineties vibe with a present-day  push. Love their denims and the almost-sheer shirts. It looks unbothered and comfy.

Well, not like I'd would be able to up and go buy their clothes. They would send you a few Ks back. I'm gonna do with what I got with Huntley's gift and maybe one or two of those Keith Haring T-shirts H&M put out. And maybe a bucket hat and a tiara. Because why on earth not?

XOXO

  2. Nice if you're a member of the 'under 20' crowd, not very age appropriate for those in their middle years or older.

      How quaint. Age appropriate, no?
And middle years. Is that after twenty? Thirty? Forty? Fifty?

  3. Believe it or not, I have a few DSQUARED2 pullovers in my closet from the old days of 'BlueFly'. So wearable and mixable.
It looks like fashion is making a full circle with patchwork denim which I find very versatile.
Happy Birthday! I need to find me a Huntley.

    1. That's awesome.
Their clothes are well made. And good design stands the test of time. One or two pieces is all one needs.
And fashion is always making a circle. I see some things that I feel I've worn before but with a twist.
      And Huntley is a darling.

  4. I don't ,mind the grunge or the Stevie Nicks/Steven Tyler rock'n'roll vibe, but I only wear wings at home, never out! 😀

    Big says,
Well, commando in denim shorts and t-shirts are my Summer clothing. Otherwise, it's nothing. I'm in the Dave crowd --- too old for most of that stuff. Except maybe the wings. Those could be fun. 😁 XOXO

Oh, btw, you say you never go to find your comments on my blog? You mean to tell me that my responses are wasted??? Sheesh...🤣😉

    2. Hey, commando and denim shorts with a t-shirt is a look I can get behind. Or in front ot. And there's no age for wearing things we like, Big.
And you're the third person to mention the wings! Aren't they fab?

Tank tops I only wear with a shirt on top. Don't have the body-ody-ody for them.

  7. I have always liked Dsquared....but more for the fall and winter for me.
Still too many layers for me for the heat and humidity. Buy love the use of color.

But who am I kidding. I feel overdressed in just a square cut. 😜😘😈

    1. Oh, they are fab with the layering. Maybe that's why they feel like a better fit for the colder seasons. And this is Spring, hence the layering . And they have great eye for texture and color, no?
And don't worry, Maddie. We love you half naked, too!

    HuntleyBiGuy:
Sure, blame the old guy 😜. I could definitely see you rocking some of this for the summer. You’ve got the body for the sheer tops and the baggy shorts are right up your alley. I think the leather (vinyl?) pants would be very uncomfortable.

    1. Well, it was you who gave me that gift card! LOL
And I was just telling J.M. I'd love those shirts. And you know me and shorts. Those pants definitely need colder temperatures, though.

  9. This only reminds how unfashionable I am and how uncool I am going to be when my daughter is older and is embarrassed when her dad shows up in a hoodie and sweatpants again. Good luck with the bucket hat and tiara, Sixpence. You will rock it.

I was just telling Jimmy how everything seems circular in fashion. By the time your daughter is in college, hoodies are gonna be the thing to wear!
And I'd love a tiara, Mr. Shife (I already got a bucket hat!!)

  10. Looks like someone spent time dumpster diving at the Goodwill donation bin! Oh, hon... let's start with those... dare I say... shoes the women were forced to clunk about in? That looked so dam uncomfortable. And unless you look like these models? One can't get away with looking like a garage sale. I say... keep it simple. If I wanted to look like a couch cushion, I'd it wouldn't be one found in an alley. Kizzes.

    1. Absolutely!
I love that not-too-complicated-vibe of dumpster diving. Love it. Very rock and roll. Also, it allows to recreate the vibe without the price. And I love you checked out the women's fashion. I usually go straight to the guys.

      XOXO
