I was gonna sit here and type a whole column on why is it that Kink is welcome (and necessary) at Pride. But then I realized I don't need to defend Kinksters. They have always had a place at the table.

Michael is right...

Happy Pride!

XOXO

P.S. You tell 'em, Miss Gaynor...

I had forgotten about that song. And the first Pride was NOT some demure situation. There were bricks thrown, FFS!

Michael always explains so well. We are what we are and should be proud of that always. Kink should always have a place at the table.

It's like Gay 101. Pride is a demonstration of unity and individuality. Kink has allowed queer people to unite in their uniqueness, so why not?

    2. There should be room for EVERYONE, Xersex, there should be!
And you are right, being proud and being kinky are the least one can expect at Pride.

People forget what is it that they were fighting for during the Stonewall Riots: oppression.

    Big says,
OMG! LMAO! These guys are a hoot. "Was she on Drag Race?" LOL. Not only was Gloria NOT famous for being on Drag Race, "I Am What I Am" wasn't originally a disco song.
Gaylings could learn a lot from the original 1983 production of "La Cage Aux Folles." Sing it out, George Hearn!! Did you know there were only 2 women in that entire chorusline??? Sing and tap dance, ***in heels.*** Pride, indeed!
    XOXO
    P.S. I'm still giggling.

    1. They are too funny.
Their referents cut right to the chase and show people their foolish ways. And I have seen the 1973 movie and the remake with Lane and Williams but I've never seen the play. Thanks for posting the video of the song! Now I wanna see the whole thing. And I was floored when only two of the dancers actually had long hair! Subtle and effective!

Those Queens were fed up with the Police fuckery and society's oppression and... rioted. There' s no way around it. And we are all the better because they did.

      Big says,
And, now, all we have to do is hang on to it! That may require more riots. I hope not, but things are not looking good with the latest fuckery out of SCOTUS.
