Oh, Ace....

This video is so Summer! I wish I could go to Italy during the summer and go to the beach and drive around small towns and get to see fig trees and walk up streams in the middle of the day. Really. That’s the life I deserve. I think I should totally reclaim my Italian side to see what gives? Who knows? Maybe my mom’s dad had a farm just a few kilometers outside Firenze? Or maybe I just should find me an Italian man. Maybe Xersex has a cousin? Anyway, when Ace started talking about that abandoned olive tree farm in Abruzzo I immediately thought about Keith and Evan, living together and remodeling houses and about what Upton told us about him and his boyfriend’s adventures owning houses.

You see, Ace and Marco were living in New York but I think now they may be thinking about staying in Italy longer. The farm is very cute and their plans about converting it into a Bed and Breakfast are absolutely adorable. This video is so optimistic, so... happy? That it made me smile. I don't know if I would ever go into business with a husband or lover, or if I'd have the fortitude to go through a whole house renovation project with someone so close to me, but watching Marco and Ace talk about these plans made me smile and think that it can be possible. Oh, young love...

So... Summer, right?

XOXO

P.S. Oh, I forgot to tell you. Ace is a porn star. You know my mantra: Porn Stars. They're just like us.

    1. It is!
My friend went on vacation to Rome and he told me there's not a lot of air conditioning. People spend an inordinate amount of time in open air cafes, tough..

    Big says,
Should they buy it? YES! The place is amazing. I kind of wish we'd been able to see the interior of the house. Italy is **so** on my Bucket List. XOXO

The place has incredible potential. And the house is probably dusty because the boyfriend's family apparently have not been there in awhile. And yes,Italy!

Where is Xersex when we need an opinion on Italy?

  5. Im with you. When I've been to Europe...anywhere...I am definitely more cut out to live there. It's so much more my mentality and pace of life. People here only know work and home life I swear.

I think it's a very utilitarian, fixed mentality what we see in the US. Europe is definitely totally different in what concerns life's outlook and even cosmology.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
I loved spending my summers on my aunt’s Minnesota farm in my teens. It is a hard life and you’re at the whims of the weather and the markets. And the equipment is hellishly expensive. Nowadays the family farmer usually has one person working the land and another holding down a non-farm job.

That said, everything they seem to be growing is perennial, so they don’t have the annual planting, but they do have the maintenance of the trees and vines. Their plans seem exciting, and it’s a new adventure. It would be interesting to check in on them in a few months and see what has transpired. The location is fantastic and very romantic.

    1. I can totally believe that one person would stay in the farm and the other hold a non-farming job. Just in case, right?
And they do have figs, olives and grapevines. I am going to keep up with their vlogging to see how this all ends. They may end up going back to NY.
      And the location is dreamy!

  7. Huh... lucky them. And it would be lovely. It's a lovely property. It's a lot of work. Hard work. Thanks for sharing. Kizzes.

It would be a ton of work to make that farm function as as B&B, but it would probably be super cool. I can imagine Americans lining up to go there.

      And you're welcome, Upton!

  8. I have always heard that going into big projects with a husband/boyfriend/lover can either bring you closer together or completely destroy your relationship.

    1. Oh, it's a test.
I think very few people can make it work. I don't know if I could be able to do it, though...
