Thirty-three states have introduced more than 100 bills that aim to curb the rights of transgender people across the country, with advocacy groups calling 2021 a record-breaking year for such legislation.  Many of these bills are rapidly making their way through state legislatures. On April 6, Arkansas became the first state to outlaw providing gender-affirming treatment to minors, a move that the American Civil Liberties Union said would "send a terrible and heartbreaking message" to transgender youth across the country.

With a blizzard of anti-Trans legislation hitting the country and with at least 7 states proposing anti-Trans legislation during the first week of 2022, keeping track of the fuckery has become a full-time job for me. That's why when I watched this video of Kade Gottlieb prepping up for a Vogue magazine cover, I knew I had to post it here.

You see, the plot of the Transphobic mind could be as simple as 'out of sight, out of mind'. From their point of view, if people don't see or talk about Trans people, then Trans people don't exist. If Trans people don't exist, they are not people, so there's an excuse to treat them as sub-human. Even the most articulate of the TERFS knows that it's about human rights, about freedom to be, about individual liberties. They just choose not to see it. It's quite convenient to try and erase what they don't like.

That's why making Trans people visible is important. That's why Kade's video is important. That's why I'm posting it here today. Because it's LGBTQ+, not just G. Because everybody has the right to choose how they live their lives without having to ask for permission from others to do so.

XOXO

  1. I just read of one state--one of the square ones in the middle--trying to pass a Biological Birth Certificate requirement for playing sports in all public schools through college.
Cuz you know that young boys are so desperate to win a ribbon or a medal that they will announce they are trans and undergo reassignment therapies and surgeries just to get a first place win.

    1. Thank you!
It's one of my first questions to TERFS and Transphobes: Do you really think that people will get themselves in a position that will make their whole lives difficult and go through painful and expensive treatments just to pee in another bathroom or win a trophy?
      Bitch, please!

  2. Pay close attention to what is happening in Kansas. The minority group of Cracker Jack Crazies is running into serious problems because... no surprise here, they're a minority group.

But that was reproductive rights. Some of those same people who voted against that measure are still Transphobes. And the MAGAts and bigots are a minority group. That's why they have rigged the system and trust the Electoral College to deliver victories to them. I really hope you are right.

  3. Gender is SO 20th century! LOL! Seriously though, who are trans people hurting? No one. Leave them alone.

It is! New generations really don't give a fuck. And Trans people are hurting people's stupidity. That's what they're hurting.

    Big says,
That is quite an insightful way to look at why the repuglies want to do away with all the T....though, if they get their way, all the other letters will "disappear," too. It's hateful, it's disgusting. If we want retain our human rights we must be prepared to fight as hard as the women fought in Tuesday's vote on the changes to the Kansas Constitution. We ***must*** win "bigly" at the ballot box to send a very clear message to the repuglies. XOXO

    1. Correct.
Conservatives and Xstofascists have NEVER given up on Gay rights or Gay marriage. They want to override all the freedoms people have that do not agree with their beliefs. Texas was great. I hope people get mobilized and vote the same way when it comes time to elect new people again...

  5. Right on, Sixpence. Thanks for sharing. These issues are important and as much as the old white people want to bury their heads in the sand on this stuff, it is not going away.

    1. Oh, the old white people are trying for all means to impose their view of the world on others, Mr. Shife.
And they're doing all they can to prevent people from living their lives freely. People need to let their opinions be known in the voting booth.

  6. Personal matters and religion issues just need to stay out of politics in general. Do your job that you are elected to do and represent your constituents. People's personal matters and choices need not be the concern of others.

The problem is that the religulous have infiltrated politics for decades and now they're seeing the fruit of their insidious labor: just look at SCOTUS. There's also a lot of repug politicians giving them lip service and serving as preparation for a theocracy.
      Tax the churches, I say.

It burns me that they are so caught up in peoples’ lives when there is so much other crap they should be taking care of. Oh wait, that’s what keeps them in office. It doesn’t matter that most of these states are at the bottom of the socio-economic pile, they don’t care about their constituents.

    1. Oh, absolutely.
They obsess about who wears what and where they pee when there are so many other issues. It's about power and telling people what to do with their genitals, though. Those states will keep electing repugs and work against their best interests because they hate other people's freedoms. Also, religion.

  8. I almost hate to say it because it is being said so much that it is beginning to sound trite. But these next two election cycles, the mid-terms and the 2024 general election, are the elections that will define the United States for decades to come. We the people have the chance to save the dream but only if we ALL get out and vote.

    1. Oh, it IS necessary to repeat it.
I remember when Hillary said it and nobody paid attention. And here we are. The United States will become what people make of them in the next two elections. You are right.
Vote Blue No Matter Who, people!

  9. Gender authenticity is a vital, personal right. How the F do they think they can legislate that? It just shows how out of touch (and old... they are too old) our government officials. 70% of the country gets it. NOW? 70% of the country need to use their vote to express their outrage. VOTE! Every time.

If is a personal freedom. And these people that their beliefs in a sky daddy or their personal biases trump other people's freedoms.
Yes, VOTE Blue and Don't Look Who because if the others win (and they will, because they've rigged the process) people (and maybe ourselves) will get hurt.

The idea that someone is somewhere enjoying their life is anathema to them. They also want a theocracy, so there's that.
The future is compromised. People need to vote Blue no matter Who.
