It’s been a minute since we have had new Sam Smith music. I've been waiting for them to come up with something new and they did not disappoint. I love Sam Smith. Ever since Latch came out, I'm always on the lookout for new songs. To me, they are the equivalent of the musical love child of Boy George and Adele. Love the voice and the delivery. And I love that they're unabashedly queer.
And now they've joined forces with Kim Petras and they give us this little romp into the sexy and delicious. Notice the slinky beat, and the inversion of the breakdown, where Sam is carrying the melody and Kim does her thing. It's usually the opposite, and it's very Cabaret, very Fosse, very Den of Iniquity Burlesque with many perverse and fun permutations and I'm here for it, of course. Also, Sam in a sleeveless black t-shirt doing the grease monkey routine? Daddy did take the car to the body shop!

I'm not quite sure what I thought of it. I didn't hate it. Definitely out of the box for Sam Smith. Although I've never been a huge fan of his for some reason but Kim Petras I love her. Overall I really like the vibe of the video though. For some odd reason I liked Sam's voice better when he did the cover of the Donna Summer song.

I think I liked the visuals more than the tune, and yes, that means the visuals of Paddy. I recently heard Sam's duet with Kelly Clarkson on Breakaway and really liked that; this song you posted doesn't seem to fit Sam well.
