Cottaging with Whippet

I am not really a 'holiday' person. Take for example my girls: the wyphe and her girl went nuts during Halloween with all kind of setups and whatnot from September to November all related to Halloween. I thought it was cute. I literally just put some gourds on my table and some dried flowers in the vases and called it a day. I also changed the sofa slipcover. That's the most I do to kind of acknowledge the holidays we're going through.

I do like it when people go all out on the celebration, though. I know that some people literally LIVE for the holidays and this couple kind of inspired me to do at least something to make my place a tiny bit more 'festive'. So I have decided I'll inject a bit of the 'holiday spirit' to my place and I think that if I like the effect, I'll let you take a peek before I go into slight hibernation before xmas.

Stay tuned....

XOXO

  1. These guys are certainly in the Christmas spirit, but all that clutter would drive me around the bend!

    1. It is a style, I guess.
I tend to accumulate stuff, too. I need to keep that under control. I find their maximalism endearing because it looks good.

  2. This wasn't the type of cottaging I was expecting. But I love collecting xmas ornaments in the past. Today, it is just a holiday table cloth.

Oh, I heart you so hard. And I positively love vintage ornaments!!!! Yes.
And the spirit manifests itself in mysterious ways, even as tablecloths.

    1. Bingo!
that's my beef with most holidays. Everything looks fantastic but it seems to be a LOT of work! I love fairy lights. And I love wreaths. I would leave them up all year round...

  4. The garland over and around a lit fireplace? Fire hazard. The Victorian collar on the dog? In my house that would last 2 seconds. I got the impression they were trying very hard to be trendy.

    1. I kind of agree, but garlands on the fireplace are a thing that's been done for years and years? It's kind of a staple. And it really is not that close to the fire, but sparks fly, right?
And having big, unruly dogs comes with a price. The chihuahua here has been walking around with a hoodie for two weeks. The frenchie tried to eat it.
And I think they ARE trendy. They are not trying.

  5. I don't like Christmas and I think they have too many Christmas ornaments. Obviously, they love it.

Oh, Xersex, babes. You are fab. I think xmas is schmaltzy and people do stupid things during the holiday, but it has cute aspects. And yes, they are very into it.

  6. I hope this comment can go through. I had a heck of a time with my comments not showing up here last week, unless they went into your spam I don't know.

Now I'm probably going to be one of the few that absolutely loved this Cottage, even though there's a bit too much odds and ends, but overall could definitely live there. I'm not quite that extent yet. And the college overall is lovely love the colors and the selection furnishings. And I may be just a bit smitten with Duncan. So handsome. And tall. Why do I get the feeling he might be packing some big long Heat?

    1. OH, I check the spam folder EVERY FUCKING DAY because blogger is a little bitch. It actually lets the spammers through, btw.
And I really liked the cottage, too. They do pack a lot of memories there but it's very charming.
And I'm sure Duncan is packing. Yes.

    2. Maddie, I think we're supposed to be looking at the gorgeous home, not wondering about how hot Duncan might be, or wrapping our lips around what probably is a big cock! Wink

    Big says,
Oh, we used to go to great lengths inside the house. There would be something in each room. We pared back in the past few years. It really is a chore to put it all out and then pack it all up again. If I could afford to hire someone, well, maybe the bulk wouldn't stay boxed up in a the closet. XOXO

    2. It is a chore!
It's way too much sometimes. I have been to houses where they have a xmas tree in every room with a THEME. When do they start decorating? Halloween??
And you should have a garage sale or invite Maddie over...

I liked it. The doggie is adorable! And now I feel the pressure to actually post something about my xmas adventure! LOL

    HuntleyBiGuy:
They do love their Christmas decor! Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I don’t bring out quite as much as I used to, but the tree still goes up, the holiday wreath comes out and the week of all day holiday baking is done.

The rest of the year the “decorating” consists of putting up either the spring/summer wreath or the fall wreath.

I was kind of inspired. And yay for the tree. I think it is the most iconic symbol of the winter solstice. And yum cookies.

  10. Oh, dear... for the second time today, I run for my coconut oil only to return to disappointment and despair. First - I was over at Give 'Em That Old Razzle Dazzle and there's a post titled Knob-Twiddling. I was hyper-ventilating only to discover it's about some old dude and British radio. Now... this! Cottaging. My dear... do look that up. And I was thinking... whippets? Not for me. Not when I have a fresh bottle of poppers standing by... And then come to learn that it's just another slice of decor porn. Sigh... Is it Monday? Feels like a Monday. Kizzes.
