Bloom's Taxonomy.

You may have experienced Bloom's Taxonomy when you were in school. It's the secret weapon instructors have to help you learn. They use it to backwards-design their classes:

Familiarly known as Bloom’s Taxonomy, this framework has been applied by generations of K-12 teachers, college and university instructors and professors in their teaching.

The framework elaborated by Bloom and his collaborators consisted of six major categories: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation. The categories after Knowledge were presented as “skills and abilities,” with the understanding that knowledge was the necessary precondition for putting these skills and abilities into practice.

Every course you took in school was probably based on this (sorry if you went to a xtianist school, though... LOL no critical thinking there because it's anathema to their 2,000-year-old-book). Public education is founded on this taxonomy. Schools and programs get funding and are accredited based on this taxonomy. Critical thinking is the foundation of education and that is why conservatives hate it. They have done everything in their hands to end public education in the United States. And sometimes I think they're going to succeed. BTW, you may be aware that you seldom 'teach' people things. What you usually do is help them understand how to best use their own thinking skills to work with the world around them. And that is something that the conservative mind will never understand or condone. Critical thinking is Kryptonite to conservatives.

That is why what Beau says is so striking and something many stupid people MAGAts of his viewers may not realize: 

• It does not take much to know how to field strip those weapons: knowing how to work with weapons a warrior does not make. I should know. I know how to field strip a baby magnum. 
• If you want to be a warrior, you need to think critically. Critical thinking is a transferrable skill. If you ever go to battle, your critical thinking skills will keep you alive.
• Some of Russia's biggest failures are related to their inability to recognize and acknowledge systems of inequality and injustice. Does it sound familiar? It's literally the GOP platform.
• Propaganda works best when striking fear in the hearts of the uneducated. Also see: MAGAts.
• Hyper nationalism is politics for *very* basic people. QAnon, anyone?
• If we move to a system that is more cooperative rather than competitive, children will not need to field strip a weapon. So make sure your children are, indeed, educated.
