Oh, Eddie....

Yeah, I know. It's in Texas. But it's so pretty! Also, I think I saw who I think was his husband once or twice but they do go out of their way to make the video 'neutral'. Why am I not surprised? This man is delicious, btw.

Now that we have taken that out of the way, the house: I love it. I love all about it, the spaces, the use of color, the touches of mid-century whimsy and design and the incredible job they did with it. This is a labor of love and a very precise use of color and design. I really like this house. Knowing that this is literally a Pinterst mood board come to life for him, makes the experience even more meaningful. Perseverance, people. It matters.

I love that they have the 'grown up room'. If I had kids *knocks on wood* I would have a 'grown up room'. With no TV. I would like to have a space where I can sit with my significant other and chill or with friends or family and chat. The TV? There can be a space for it. But not in this room. And I realized I like a lacquered/ mylar ceiling. Sue me. Also, The Cabana? Do want. And that bathroom!!!

For all the Home Porn I watch, some places do stay with me. This is one of those places. Maybe because I can see the people who live here? Yes, it's carefully curated to an inch of its life, but that's what Home Porn is, right? I love all the color and I think I'm inspired. I'm going to go all colorful with my sitting room this Summer. If I do something and I like the results, I'll post the pics.

XOXO

    1. OMG the textured doors!
They apparently went all out with those and changed all the doors. Probably a pretty penny, but oh so worth it!

I’m with you. I really like this house. It’s very bright and cheerful and the colors pop. So many coved ceilings and I like how he’s accented them. I also like the idea of the wall to wall drapery in the bedroom, even though the sliding doors aren’t wall to wall.

Move it out of Texas and I could live there.

And you know I love me some white on neutral. I was also surprised by the ceilings. Very few people think about those. And that idea is genius. It totally make the window seem bigger!

  4. Big says,
Love this place. Yes, I do. I could do without so much wallpaper, but love everything else about it. The lacquered ceilings? OMG, what a great idea to bounce light? Though we have TONS of large windows. The coved ceiling with the up-light? We have that in our formal sitting area (where there is no TV 😁 ). All our ceilings are 12', except the entry which is 14'. 'Course, the black and white outdoor spaces drew me in right off. Smooches for bringing this one to us. XOXO

Yes, they do like their wallpaper, but it does bring that something extra, no? The ceilings are a trick I have not heard of, really. And I love the idea of a sitting area without TV! I have one. It's for something called 'conversation', right??
      And Marilyn, of course!!

  5. Very nice, except for that High Gloss Lacquer on the ceiling. What in Hell were they thinking?

  6. I love this. I love that they kept it updated 60s mod even after a gut remodel. I love the high gloss ceilings; I imagine at night it's gorgeous. My one quibble? That kitchen-island table; I loathe the shape. But, hey, I can change that!

It was a gut job. The whole place was updated. Very nice. I loved the gloss ceilings! And I actually liked the island. That splash of color!

  7. I can appreciate the style and work that went into this... it is gorgeous, but so not me. A bit to polished in places for me personally. Two pieces I loved the most and would have, the grey velvet sofa, and the slate blue chair with the very high back. I am not of one style, like most people...all modern, all farmhouse or all Mid Century...I personally like it all mixed in together to create my own spin.

But if he wanted to fucked me over the edge of that outdoor pool.... who am I to say no?

    1. I see what you mean.
I think they did mix in some contemporary pieces and style. It's not totally Jetsons. And that sofa! Sooo sensual.
And I think you may have to wait until I finish with him, babes. You may have the husband. I know he's somewhere in the house...

  8. Beautiful place. I could live there and they would not even have to move out. Oh, and it is only a couple hundred miles away from me so I could stay in Texas.

And it is a big house. I would live in the cabana, for real.
And this is a couple hundred miles from you? I swear, if I go near Texas, I'll let you know!
