Oh, Mr. Van Beirendonck...

I am always told that fashion is 'not a thing' and that 'nobody would wear that'. Well, here's a collection that will make you think about those two things, one way or another.  @WalterVanBeirendonck tells us in this runway that 'we need new eyes to see the future' while touching on politics and managing to be inspirational. Save the world but make it fashion. Go ahead, take a peek. I support you.

XOXO

  1. Imho, some are unwearable (#8 & #10), but some are.

Did you watch the video?? LOL Oh, I would wear any of these ten in a heartbeat.

  2. Big says,
This wasn't a fashion runway show as much as it was a walking art installation. Outside of a piece here or there that might actually be wearable (see the shirt and tie on model #2 right out of the gate). The rest might belong in a nightclub. XOXO

    1. Love that point of view!
Fashion in itself is more related to architecture and art than to anything more conspicuously consumable. I thought the ribcage jackets were beautiful but would not be able to wear them (because I don't think they'd fit my aesthetic). And some of the clothes do remind me of club kids!

  3. I am fashion-challenged so the attractiveness of this eludes me, alas.

Yes, very that. Did you know that ALL THE CLOTHES were actually designer? They used real Ralf Simons and Vuitton. Levy talks about that in interviews.

  7. What the hell did I just smoke?

I have the feeling I would be sweating like a whore in church in most of these. LMAO!

I tripped with the ribcage jackets. For real. And I think the plastic is mostly a statement about ecology. I'd wear that coat to Trader Joe's though...

    2. I do agree with the latex pants though. I remember helping a friend once get into a latex jumpsuit for his puppy play party....it was all I could do to get the thing pulled on and up!!!!! I will admit his cock looked hot in it though.

I love that! His designs do have that childlike penchant for color. I think he's genius.
