What goes around...
I don't know if you remember my friend Marcus. I wrote about him in 2020 (!!!) and many of you offered very kind words about his passing. You're awesome.
On Saturday I was talking about him (we were passing by his former apartment in Edgewater and I said what I usually say when I go by: 'Hey, Marcus!') and I was told that they had caught the man who killed him. I felt cold all over. I thought the police was gonna let that one go. But no. And apparently I was late to the news. This is from 2022:
Marcus Merge was fighting a life-threatening illness and struggling with drug addiction when someone killed him in his Edgewater apartment and stuffed his body into the refrigerator two years ago. On Monday, prosecutors said the killer was Malik Lee, who was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Merge when he strangled the 58-year-old with an extension cord during an argument. A little less than a month before Merge was last seen alive, prosecutors charged Lee with an attempted vehicular hijacking in Edgewater. He was on bail for that case at the time of the murder.
I hope the killer rots in jail. They set bail, I believe, but I did not find any more info about the case. But he's got a rap sheet as long as they come and I sure as hell hope he'll never see the light of day again: he was on bond for attempted vehicular carjacking when he killed Marcus. How about them apples? Oh, and did I tell you they did try the 'self-defense' excuse, trying to say that Marcus struck the killer first and the killed 'defended' himself?
Yep, they did try that one. Fuck them all the way to hell. I hope soon the world totally forgets about this Malik Lee. Marcus, on the other hand will live with us.
XOXO

ReplyDeleteI so glad they caught him. What he did was so horrible. I hope he can’t make bail and gets what he has coming to him. Though the death penalty is no longer available in Illinois, hopefully he’ll get life without parole.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
It was horrible and premeditated.
DeleteI don't know if he'll be able to make bail with an outstanding warrant? But what do I know. I hope he rots in prison.
XOXO
Call me a cold cunt...but Im all for the death penalty. If someone kills someone else...I think the crime should be punishable by what they did. You kill someone, your killed, you rape, your raped, you have big time stealing, your hand is cut off. I bet crime would drop considerably. If someone I know was killed like that, I'd have no problem with them getting the death penalty. Otherwise, I may kill them myself.
DeleteOh no honey.
DeleteI think there are crimes and there are CRIMES. Lurkie was commenting on the other blog that one feels these things more when they'e personal and it may be true.
XOXO
I didn't know you had another blog? How did I miss that?
DeleteHuntleyBiGuy:
DeleteSix is using Wordpress as a mirror site for when Blogger becomes unbearable. Lurkie can’t comment on Blogger but does on Wordpress. Keep up, Maddie 😎
But it is up!
DeleteHuntleyBiGuy:
DeleteAs they say, pics or it didn’t happen. 😜
Hahaha
DeleteYes, Maddie. It is a copy/backup of this one: https://thedayandthetime.wordpress.com/
And I bet you'd like some of those Maddie pics, bae. LMAOOO
XOXO
May justice be done for your friend.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteThis man is a danger to society. Really.
XOXO
Karma has more to do with balance than "what goes around, comes around, though that is part of the process. If you happen to chance upon someone with good Karma, becoming a friend can only be beneficial.
ReplyDeleteHeh
DeleteWhat goes around.. as I thought here, has more to do with the consequences of a person's actions. It's literally schadenfreude in this case. I don't think Karma even crossed my mind...
XOXO
It's wonderful that they caught the guy. ...self defense... What bullshit.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
To tell you the truth, I thought they were just gonna let it go.
DeleteI'm so glad they actually carried out an investigation (with fingerprints and the works!) and caught this killer.
Oh, yeah. They did try that.
XOXO
I'm glad the guy was caught. It's so sad. Murder is senseless.
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteOh, we were shaken for the longest time after it happened. Murder is horrible.
XOXO
Life without parole. Twenty-three hours a day in a cell, and one hour free time; nothing more. As Dennis Shephard, Matthew's father, said in court the day they sentenced his killers to life without parole:
ReplyDelete“You won’t be a symbol. No years of publicity, no chance of commutation, no nothing—just a miserable future and a miserable end. It works for me….Mr. McKinney, I give you life in the memory of one who no longer lives. May you have a long life, and may you thank Matthew every day for it.”
Works for me.
Just a miserable future and a miserable end.
DeleteWorks for me, too.
XOXO
I glad the caught the low life, piece of trash bastard.
ReplyDeleteNow may you and your friends find peace and closure.
💗💗💗💗💗💗
OMG I thought they were dragging their feet!
DeleteThis man is absolute scum. And thanks, babes. It's indeed brought me closure to know he's most probably going to jail for life.
XOXO
sometimes the police are slow but they arrive to catch the guilty of murder. In Italy it has happened that some assassins have been arrested after 20/30 years, and have gone to prison, as if they had been arrested the day before the assassination. I am very happy that your friend's killer has been caught, not only to give him justice, but also so that he can no longer do any more harm to society.
ReplyDeleteFor a hot minute there I thought it was going to be a cold case.
DeleteI could not understand why they had done nothing if they had video surveillance and everything. And thank you, Xersex. I am glad they caught that piece of shit, too. He's a danger to society, that's for sure.
XOXO
you can read here what happened in Italy, a cold case from 1991 to 2007.
DeleteOMG the killer WAS the butler!!!
