On soft landings, recession, and Biden....

Ok, so let's talk about this.
Full disclaimer: I am not a political analyst. I'm just an opinionated blogger with access to the internet. That being said, much has been commented of Joe Biden and the Dems doing 'nothing' during his time in office. Oh, yes. All I hear is 'Joe Biden hasn't canged anything' or 'the Dems don't seem to implement any laws'. Haven't they, now? And then comes Beau.

Oh, I had to look up 'soft landing' after Beau explained it. I also had to go find out what 'recession' is, why inflation is still an issue and also the impact job creation and Union support has on the economy.

@What46HasDone with the receipts

@bowirgrrl1 with more receipts as to how deceptively edited 'facts' can be used to mislead people. Luke Savage, seen here trashing what Biden has done, uses information provided by a member of a conservative think tank without including all the data. Surprise!

I think all the negative talk about what Biden has done has mostly to do with the relentless negativity of the Media. There's not a day when I read that Biden is NOT doing something, or that Biden DIDN'T achieve something. He's attacked for not creating enough jobs and then for creating too many jobs. He's attacked for reversing laws that affect the environment and for not reversing them soon enough. He's attacked for not being in NY for 9/11 but would have been criticized for not being in Asia fixing shit up. There's no winning for him, according to the media. It's all done for clicks.

As a Biden supporter, I know he's 80 years old, that he's a career politician, that his son is problematic, that he will not give us universal health care, that he won't kill inflation, that he will not be in two places at the same time and that he will not clear my skin and improve my muscle tone. There is just so much a president can do. But there's also so much damage a president can do. Just look at what the Orange Shitgibbon did with the country in four years of Kakistocracy. Something that Biden has had to deal with for three years now. And he has done a good job with it. Is Bidenomics the save-all, cure-all? No. But it is working.

So, the next time you hear Biden 'has not done enough' or that Biden 'didn't do something'. Stop and think: 'should I learn more about this?', look that shit up and THEN open your mouth.

Just sayin'.

XOXO

P.S. Oh. And from last year

BTW Huntley sends you this, in case you needed to hear it...

  1. I was going to do a similar post next week but you beat me to it, and outdid me, too. Thanks for this; the Democrats need to stand up and the Democrats in office need to speak out.

    1. Oh, you MUST!
Use parts of mine if you want. You reach more people than I do (I don't know how many hits I get but you have more followers: the more that hear this, the merrier).
The Dems are doing stuff: the proof is in the pudding. Not as much as they could if they were majority, but that's why we have to convince people to vote Dem.

    1. Absolutely.
And it drives me literally mad. Do they want to clone him so he can be at two places at a time? Do they want him to do only the most progressive shit that has not been part of this country for a century? They want their cake and eat it too.
      Ugh.

  3. Biden may not be a genius, but I honestly don't see any great politicians in the world. Even regardless to T.

    3. And that's why he's a clown.
Trump never intended to win. When he won he saw an opportunity to profit monetarily from the position. He's a corrupt con man with mafia techniques.

  4. Biden's done quite a lot. Conservatives have always lied. Not so subtle reminder: everything on Twitter is biased towards Conservative authoritarianism because Musk was to be a demi-god.

They have! It's what drives me crazy with the fucking media just picking soundbites from Large Marge and the such. Twitter is a cesspool of fuckery and racism.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
We’re getting into that period where instead of highlighting the administration’s accomplishments and the right’s wrongdoings we’re going to end up with the “what about” narrative, or the “both sides” crap. The media cannot be relied upon to give us unbiased information. They believe we can’t make informed decisions for ourselves, so they’re going to give us click bait.

It’s time for us to do some work and find our reliable sources, like Beau and you. Thanks for doing the legwork.

    2. Oh, the whataboutism and the bothsideing. Fuck them.
I just can't with the main networks (and newspapers) that in order to sell in Red states, bring just about anybody from the Right to talk shit without checking them at the door.
And thanks for that video, babes! Politics Girl is awesome.

  6. Big says,
We're having an argument with a young friend who is in the "we need someone younger" camp. Yes, she knows of the accomplishments, but still says she will vote 3rd party. No amount of explaining manages to get her to understand that will be a vote for Twitler. Maybe as it draws closer the folks complaining about age and the 2-party system will figure it out.... XOXO

    1. Oh, I have arguments every three days with some people.
Yes, we do need someone younger, but look how BIden beat Cheeto once. Have Buttigieg been the nominee we'd have Cheeto as president.
And don't get me started with the fuckery of third parties. Ugh

  7. I don't care what party or who's in office you will never be able to please all the people all the time. While I do not dislike Biden, I'm probably not his biggest fan I still think there would have been better candidates. My biggest thing I applaud him for was his handling of the covid and getting the vaccines out in a timely manner. Although I do think the vaccine should still be free for all. I still have things that I wish the dens would finally put a nail in and get accomplished, and I'm very puzzled as to why they haven't done these things yet. I don't care which part is in it should be a priority to get the minimum wage up. It's pretty bad when people can't even afford a rent in most cities anymore. The cost of everything is going up ...yet so many people make below minimum wage. I see the poor and homeless in this country skyrocketing if something's not done soon. Overall I would probably give Biden a six or seven on his things he's done and how satisfied I am. I still think we need less career and corporate politicians in office. I got these right leaning Center Democrats get on my damn nerves. I hope the Democratic party learned their lesson with Sinema and Manchin and that other one. They have foiled the Democratic vote way too many times. Next time hopefully they'll back the progressive candidate instead.

    1. Oh, I do care if the Repugs are in power. Look at what they did when Cheeto was the president: incredible amounts of fuckery in a Kakistocracy. Never again.
Biden did manage Covid but the stupids are still getting sick and passing it on to healthy people. The Dem party does need to get their shit together, though. If they don't do something with the messaging (politics is mostly perception and optics in America, after all) they'll be in trouble.

HuntleyBiGuy: Regarding minimum wage, many blue states (e.g. Illinois, California, etc.) have taken it upon themselves to raise it. Unfortunately it’s still lagging behind cost of living, especially real estate/rent.

    3. Big says,
That there is the problem in the Dem party: Sinema and Manchin. They've fucked some really good legislation with their bullshit. Like the Child Tax Credit. Manchin alone caused the rapid rise in poverty. And what's worse: He doesn't care. He's got his coal business millions and his yatch, so the thinks the rest of the nation can go pound sand. XOXO

    4. Yes!
And Sinema and Manchin were the 'progressives', the 'alternative' (isn't Sinema Bi or something?) and they fucked up more than once in the past three years, kneecaping a lot of legislation just because the Dems had such a narrow majority sometimes.
      Loathe them.

      XOXO
