Oh, Wim…

@wimbeullens
@wimbeullens

@wimbeullens is a Belgian artist who works in graphite, charcoal and color. My favs, though, are graphite and charcoal. I don't know why, but I find drawings in graphite and color to be absolutely fantastic.

His artwork is -from my point of view, natch- very sensual, especially what he publishes on Instagram. Probably due to the fact that you cannot really post nudity there (especially male nudity, of course). But sometimes the occasionally penis does show up, to my delight. I do like penises, you know?

@wimbeullens

I really like his artwork. Really. I could hang one of these in my living room.

Of course, the goodies are on Twitter. He does not seem to have a Twitter account (sorry, I just can’t bring myself to type Xitter) but there’s a hashtag with his name:

So if you decide to commission a portrait or just a headshot (he does fantastic studios of faces) drop him a line and let us know!

XOXO

P.S. That last image came from @DeliciousDeity who apparently also posted about him! We have good taste in men, you know...

  1. Big says,
    VERY nice work. I'm partial to the graphite. I will have to pass this on to a friend of mine who has what he calls the Dick Room. All kinds of dick photos and artwork that he and his husband collect. He's got some stunning stuff - sculptures, too. He'll appreciate these. XOXO

      I think graphite gives most anything that touch that says: 'art'.And I hope your friends buys/commissions something!

      I love most anything in grayscale. I do love color, but nudes? Grayscale it is.

  3. I was loving the graphite and charcoal, like you I find it more interesting, and then came across those in color and they're excellent, too!
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Isn't that something?
      I love, love, love! Graphite and charcoal drawings. His color drawings are usually on pencil, so they do keep that trace/blurry quality of the graphite ones. Also, the men are delicious.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
    This is some beautiful work. I think the charcoal and graphite provides a little more panache with the shadows you get. So, you’re partial to penises, huh? Who would have known?

  5. Oh, what a find! One or two of these remind me of Harry Bush's pencil drawings of nubile young men

    1. Yes!
      Harry Bush's work had that bursting, animal sensuality sportsmen sometimes have. These totally remind you of a beast in repose.
      And now I need to lay down...

  6. Interesting style... more of an impression than a drawing... as if men are made of smoke. Thanks for sharing. You find the best stuff.

      How poetic! But some of the drawings do seem to almost threaten with disappearing...
