Good, grief?
I, of course, wanna watch this. It's premiering in select theaters on December 29 and then it's out on Netflix, though. And I can't wait. For one, it's Dan Levy's movie directorial debut. Second, it's got Luke Evan who's DADDY an actor I like very much. And it looks it was filmed in Paris. What more can I ask for?
It also has Ruth Negga, whom I loved in Preacher. I like Dan Levy. I think his taking over Schitt's Creek was the saving grace of that series. Once he jumped in the director chair, the whole thing shifted, took on a different tone and mood. It became more sharply focused, more humorous, more self-deprecating, more... human? And more Queer. I think it had a Queer sensibility and point of view and that made the series... better? At least I think so.
I'm looking forward to this movie. I want to see what he does with this theme...
Now, wanna go to a movie?
XOXO

ReplyDeleteHey babe, are you OK? You’re getting a little macabre at the end of the year, here. First it’s what happens to your digital footprint when you die, now a movie dealing with dead partners and relationships.
This does link like a very intriguing movie. I may have to cancel one of my other streaming services and finally get Netflix.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
Hahaha
DeleteWell, I'm not afraid of death. I'm only worry that people will have to sort through the sex toys I keep in the bathroom.
And I am all for this. Apart from the obvious subject, there's hints of many other things that may be explored. Looking forward to it.
XOXO
It is rare, though not uncommon, for a movie trailer to make me cry. But this one did and now I have to change my budget to afford Netflix so that I can watch the movie. I will also have to budget even more for tissues. What it appears to be about hit me right in the gut.
ReplyDeleteHahaha
DeleteIt's very effective, no? And I think Netflix is a good choice. And you can share the password...
XOXO
LOL... Anonymous! Like our little joy factory Sixpence would ever dip into despair? You're joking. I, for one, can't wait to see this... my eyes are waterfalls watching that promo. Levy continues to amaze me. So talented. And what a cast. Yes... very, very privileged... bah - but still, a story I've been waiting to see. And so adult! Thanks for cluing us in, dear. Now I have something to look forward in January! Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteLMAOO
DeleteOh, Upton. And I can't wait to see it, either. I think it's going to be really nuanced. Look at the actors: diverse AND talented. And Levy WAS the force behind Schitt's Creek's success.
It's gonna be in my January list, too!
XOXO
It looks delightful. And makes it apparent that Levy has quite the acting range. That's good, he won't get pigeon-holed like his dad did. XOXO
ReplyDeleteI know, right?
DeleteAnd to think he started on MTV. But he's got good schooling. He's been in a ton of things recently.
XOXO
I'll pass on it. If I want to cry, all I need to do is look at the political landscape erupting in America.
ReplyDeleteHeh
DeleteBut Dave. It's not a sad story. It's a story of resilience and friendship and life.
XOXO
I believe that in this case crying is good for the soul. That for reality (politics) is a tragedy. And not just in the USA.
DeleteI love Dan Levy. He's so talented. I have no doubt this movie will be wonderful and have something real to say. It's now on my "to see" Netflix list, thanks!
ReplyDeleteSame!
DeleteAnd doesn't it look... MOVIE? Like grown-up movie. Not like an after school special. Deffo in my list.
XOXO
Well the trailer almost made me blubber so that means I need to watch it. Thanks for sharing, Sixpence.
ReplyDeleteAwww
DeleteYou're welcome, Mr. Shife!
And make sure you let us know what you think about it!!!
XOXO
Looks lovely; Dan Levy is quite a remarkable talent and Luke Evans, well, i could climb him.
ReplyDeleteThe preview makes you wish to see what happens. i love that over previews that basically give you the entire story.
xoxo
I know!
DeleteIsn't he? And hunny, you'd have to take me down first to get to Luke. Yum.
It was a very effective trailer. Now I WANT to know what it is that's going on.
XOXO
Dan Levy.. the one to watch! I never really got into Schitts Creek though. I caught episodes here and there. Of course I was mostly drawn to him and Catherine O'Hara.
ReplyDeleteHe is!
DeleteAnd Schitt's Creek takes off after season two. That's when Dan takes over directing and you can feel the change in tone and how nuanced it becomes. Moira, of course is a hoot. And did you know that ALL THE FASHION in the show is actually Balenciaga, and Louis Vuitton and Prada and Rick Owens? Dan and the wardrobe person hunted the pieces down in luxe consignment stores.
