It Came from The Left...
You know I don't like Republicans. And there's few people that spell 'Republican' quite as well as Liz Cheney. Her father is literally the embodiment of Republican evil, for fuck's sake! And yet, here I am, posting her interview with Stephen Colbert.
The problem with the Right in America is that it is so deranged, so sectarian, so absolutely bonkers that a person who is not a friend of Democrats, a friend of decency or even a friend of the truth is, as this point, the most sane voice coming from the GOP. Liz is a right-wing Repug who just happens to be on the wrong side of the MAGAts. That's basically it.
What we should not forget at this moment is that Liz (and about 98%) of Repugs have been fiercely anti-LGBTQ, xenophobic, racist warmongers. Let's not get lost in that old 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' trope. She's still the enemy. An enemy who is calling out a bigger enemy, but an enemy nonethless.
Don't let the smooth taste fool you.

I believe that some say they are in favor of the LGBT world, to also gain the votes of some slightly confused LGBT people. But as soon as they get the votes, they go back to being against the LGBT world. Soon they are smart, and in part they succeed and will succeed in their aim: to obtain as many votes as possible. But it's up to those who are smarter and more intelligent than them to unmask them right away.

Rachel Maddow put it to Liz Cheney perfectly: "When this is over, we can go back to our corners and fight over the other things that matter to us. Right now, we need to come together to defeat the right-wing extremists." And what a fight it will be. It's not only Thing 45 that we have to beat.

I don't doubt that Lizzy is taking notes from Daddy and both she and he know that when Trump goes down, and he will go loudly to Hell, there is going to be a big void in the GOP and she's going to be there to fill it and help the party recover.
