Let's talk about Trump, appeals, and immunity....
One thing is clear: Jabba the Orange is not saying he's innocent. He's saying he can do as he pleases because he's immune to the law. Well, it seems he's just CITIZEN Cheeto and that's that.
And today we will know if SCOTUS (that has been stacked by the Repugs with corrupt, bought and paid for sycophants) decides if Mango Mussolini should be disqualified from holding office. We shall see...
I am nervous.
XOXO
P. S. This was last night:
HuntleyBiGuy:
ReplyDeleteLike Beau, I have mostly heard that SCOTUS will not take this up. I guess the Appeals Court was so detailed in their 57-page ruling that there is very little wiggle room on this.
But with this SCOTUS who really knows. I believe it only takes dour justices, not even a majority, to decide to take it up.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
Well, they left Cheeto off the hook in the Colorado case.
DeleteUgh.
XOXO
I don't trust your SCOTUS to do the right thing unless a couple of them miraculously develop a conscience all of a sudden.
ReplyDeleteOh, they won't.
DeleteThey believe states can decide if a woman can abort or not, but states apparently cannot decide if an insurrectionist can be in the ballot...
XOXO
I suspect a number of people are confused about all of Trump's court cases. Today's hearing is about keeping him off the ballot in Colorado. I think the court will rule to keep him on the ballot. This is not his immunity case, and I think Huntley is correct. They're not going to touch that pieces of shit with a ten foot pole. That ruling will mean that his Insurrection case in Washington will probably start in late May or early June. If Trump loses that case, any and every state that wants to can keep him off the ballot in November.
ReplyDeleteOh, I enjoy that his legal foes are many.
DeleteI loathe that he keeps getting away with murder (even though he's going to have to act in the E.Jean Carroll latest one STAT). They left him off the hook in Colorado because of reasons.
The insurrection case is the big one, no? Can't wait.
XOXO
Big says,
ReplyDeleteAs far as the 14th, S3 goes...there are even liberals calling out S2 and S5 which could give SCOTUS the out they need to allow Cheeto to remain on ballots. Now, the Immunity bullshit? I don't think they'll let that one go if they believe that no one is above the law. We shall see in a few days time if they take up the immunity on appeal. It may be a week to know their ruling on the ballot issue.
XOXO
Oh, they allowed him to stay in. I'm disappointed, but you know how these legal things go.
DeleteI think the immunity thing is gonna be more difficult, but you have all those idiots he put in SCOTUS vying for him...
XOXO
The Republicans have been on this Presidential immunity and executive privilege shit since Harding, Teapot Dome anyone ? Only to accelerate this idea with Nixon at the time of Watergate. And yes, they certainly believe in an all-powerful executive branch when only a Republican resides in the White House.
ReplyDeleteAs far as this un-Supreme Court goes, they have no legitimacy as hacks of the reactionary and regressive Federalist Society. An organization whose leadership is proving to be as corrupt as the leadership at the NRA. -Rj
The thing is that the power hungry repugs always want justice for OTHERS, not themselves.
DeleteImmunity is not a thing in a democracy (representative or not) but they keep pushing, like you say, when there's a repug in the White House.
And is this SCOTUS compromised!!!
XOXO
You are rightly worried about T., but I would be at least as worried about B., who being 80 years old weighs heavily on his abilities and his memory. I wouldn't say he's a wonderful old man, in the prime of his mental faculties. Of course, he is better than T., but this is very easy.
