Et Tu, Alaska???

I was talking to Mads about Alaska Thunderfuck's opinions on Biden, Cheeto and this election. And I just can't with people who have a platform and still, dare to open their mouths to spew... uninformed bullshit?
If you don't know, Alaska Thurnderfuck is a Drag artist who took part in the very successful franchise Drag Race. She's been on the wildly successful reality series several times and has a huge platform on social media. We're not talking your local, small town Drag Artist here. We're talking to someone with a soapbox that spans hundreds of thousands of followers of her podcast, her youtube channel, the MOM mini-empire, tik-tok, instagram, snapchat and twitter. This is not me, screaming at the void in my little blog. This is someone with a voice and the choice to make a change by using information.

And this is what I found about what Alaska claims she knows about Biden by doing my 'research' (which means google and a WiFi):

Dear Alaska:

Democratic Candidates for President in 2024

In the 2024 presidential election, the Democratic Party has prominent figures running for the nomination. The key candidates include:

1. **Joe Biden**: President Joe Biden, aged 81, is seeking reelection and faces little opposition within the Democratic Party. He emphasizes defending American democracy and has Vice President Kamala Harris as his running mate[2][5].

2. **Marianne Williamson**: A best-selling author and self-help guru, Marianne Williamson, aged 71, is running on a platform of "justice and love." She previously ran in the 2020 presidential primary[2].

3. **Dean Phillips**: Dean Phillips, a U.S. congressman from Minnesota, has announced a challenge to Biden's candidacy, citing concerns about Biden's ability to win another term. Phillips is a 54-year-old businessman and co-founder of a gelato company[2].

These candidates represent a mix of experience and fresh perspectives within the Democratic Party's nomination race for the 2024 presidential election.

Note: So it was not ‘just’ Biden as candidate, there were other people vying for the presidency but they were ruled out by the voters. There was a choice.

The reason Democrats did not codify Roe v. Wade into law lies in several factors:

1. **Sense of Settlement**: After the Supreme Court's ruling in Roe v. Wade in 1973, there was a prevailing sense that the issue of abortion rights was settled law. Many believed that passing legislation to protect abortion rights was unnecessary as the Supreme Court had already established it as a constitutional right[1].

2. **Lack of Votes**: Despite efforts by Democrats to introduce bills like the Freedom of Choice Act in 1993 to codify Roe v. Wade, they faced challenges in garnering enough votes for such legislation. The political landscape and divisions within both parties made it difficult to secure the necessary support for codifying abortion rights into law[2].

3. **Filibuster Rules**: In recent years, the filibuster rule in the Senate has been a significant obstacle. The requirement of 60 votes to overcome a filibuster posed a challenge for Democrats, especially when facing opposition from Republicans on contentious issues like abortion rights[3].

4. **Changing Political Dynamics**: Over time, the issue of abortion became increasingly polarized along party lines, making legislative efforts to codify Roe v. Wade more challenging. The changing composition of the Supreme Court and the evolving political landscape further complicated attempts to pass comprehensive legislation on abortion rights[4].

In summary, a combination of factors, including a perceived settlement of the issue by the Supreme Court, challenges in securing sufficient votes, filibuster rules in the Senate, and evolving political dynamics, contributed to the Democrats' inability to codify Roe v. Wade into law.

Note: I’m glad this one was spelled out so well. Maybe every time someone brings this up, you’ll bring THIS up.

The claim that Joe Biden "can't put two sentences together" has been made by former President Donald Trump, who questioned Biden's ability to speak coherently and participate in the 2024 election campaign[1][4]. Despite these criticisms, President Biden has been actively engaged in public speaking, including press conferences and State of the Union addresses, where he has articulated his administration's policies and goals[3][5]. While opinions on Biden's communication skills vary, he continues to fulfill his presidential duties and communicate with the public through various platforms.

Note: Alaska, gurl. Really? Spewing Cheeto’s bullshit? Do Better.

President Joe Biden has faced criticism for not stopping Israel's bombing of Gaza. Despite escalating tensions and casualties in the region, Biden has not pushed for a ceasefire, which has raised concerns domestically and internationally[1][2][4]. The President's approach has been questioned, especially as the conflict continues to escalate, leading to significant civilian casualties and humanitarian crises[5]. Efforts to broker a ceasefire have been ongoing, with negotiations involving the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar to halt the violence in Gaza during the upcoming Muslim holy month of Ramadan[5]. The situation remains complex, with Biden facing pressure to act decisively to address the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Note: This is the one that most baffles me. I’ve been reading up on Geopolitics like Big suggted, but shit, that conflict is fucked up!

And the situation IS complex:

### History of Israel's Actions in Gaza

The history of Israel's actions in Gaza is complex and spans several decades, marked by conflicts, occupations, and humanitarian crises. Here is a summary based on the provided search results:

- **1948 - 1967**: Gaza was under Egyptian control after the war surrounding Israel's establishment in 1948. The territory became home to Palestinian refugees who were displaced during the conflict[2].

- **1967 - 1993**: Israel seized control of Gaza during the 1967 Mideast war, along with the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The internationally recognized Palestinian Authority was established, but peace efforts were hindered by violence and political challenges[2].

- **2005 - Present**: After Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, Hamas won parliamentary elections and took control of the territory. This led to an Israeli blockade on Gaza, exacerbating economic hardships and tensions in the region[2].

- **Recent Conflicts**: The region has witnessed numerous conflicts, including Hamas attacks on Israel and Israeli military operations in Gaza. These conflicts have resulted in significant casualties and humanitarian crises, with both sides engaging in retaliatory actions[1][3][4].

The history of Israel's actions in Gaza is intertwined with broader geopolitical dynamics, territorial disputes, and ongoing efforts to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The situation remains volatile, with periodic escalations leading to devastating consequences for civilians in the region.

I don’t think that we can just blame Biden or the Dems for ‘doing nothing’, the same way that we cannot compare Jabba the Orange to Joe Biden. We have no idea about what this conflict entails and what’s a stake for the US and the world in this fight.

In this case, Alaska and all the disgruntled voters (don’t get me started with the Arabs in Michigan!!) need to get their shit together. Yes, Biden could do more about Israel, but who says he’s not doing anything? Also, I would definitely vote for somebody who actually fulfills the job description instead from somebody who spews trumpery, who demands sequacity from his minions. A useless catchfart, a croucher, a toadeater. A dunce with ipsedixitists and bayards who follow every slurred word and every spit-filled lie a thin-skinned, spoiled, privileged, man-child spews. Not to mention a well known con man who would sell -again- the secrets of this country to save his worthless skin.

Give me a fucking break.

XOXO

  1. Now is not the time to split the Democratic vote and allow Trump back into office, no matter what anyone thinks about Biden or a single issue.

  2. Big says,
Bravo, Six, Bravo!! Well researched, coherently written. If that's all Alaska knows about the candidates, she very obviously has not bothered to do any reading on the subject. At all. And the sad part is: It's not that fucking difficult to do. Biden has a well-known speech impediment that he works very hard to minimize. Thing 45 just blathers, spewing garbage --- like all the disgusting (false) accusations he made at the border yesterday. I swear, if people like AK don't wake up before Nov, we're all fucked.

    1. OMG Big.
It's literally putting together things easily found online and people still don't do it. And I know about Uncle Joe's speech impediment and I find it empowering that he does public speaking!
And Alaska's opinions are sadly widespread. Ugh.

I love this dissertation on geopolitics. Well thought out and documented. You should easily obtain your doctorate.

I can’t with these fools. THERE WILL NEVER BE AN IDEAL. CANDIDATE! I feel that in this moment, Joe is the right and best candidate to advance this country and turn back Putin’s puppets. We must secure actionable majorities in both houses of congress. Then, and only then, can we accomplish meaningful progress.

You silly goose. It's literally entering a query in google. And the ideal candidate does not exist. That is absolutely true. Dems need to win both houses, that's true. And the presidency.

  4. I'm impressed! The bit about Biden not being able to put 2 sentences together is scaring the shit out of the GOP right now because he's going to be giving the State of the Union speech, and people will get to see for themselves how much the GOP lies. In fact, they're so scared, Scott Perry attempted to legislate against having the State of the Union Speech, and failed.

      Oh, Dave!
And I cannot believe people think Uncle Joe cannot put two sentences together when there's proof he CAN. And they've seen Cheeto go off saying nothing and spewing nonsense!
And they were scared of Biden before and are scared of Biden now.

  5. Oh my ....my brain hurts. Alaska is a bit nuts.....and she isn't the only dem that is saying she won't vote. But grid your loins girl......as much as I adore friend and favorite cow....Lady Bunny.....I have the feeling she would make your head implode. She is extremely anti Republican and Democrat.....and has since thrown overboard AOC and Benny Sanders for giving in to the Democrat party. She and I never agree on politics. She is very third party.....but I tell her all the time being in NYC she as the luxury to vote third party....but most of us don't. It's like throwing our vote out. Would many vote third party? Yes....But then they and democrats would lose all the time. The darling doesn't understand that. I just wish one year one party or the other would finally get some of these common sense issues past that mean something like more affordable prescriptions, higher mininium wage, much better healthcare, gun control and much tougher penalties and laws.....etc. It common sense not rocket science. But Biden overall has done a pretty good job I think. I think I just have different priorities. But by damn he better get back in.

Bunny IS indeed very third party. She's so third party that SHE should run. That's what I tell everybody who complains about the Dems: then YOU should run, bitch!
And most Dems run on that, Mads. The problem is that people are selfish when it comes to some common sense issues. And Biden has done VERY well, taking into account that the Repugs have fought him EVERY FUCKING STEP OF THE WAY.
