Oh, Pieter...

I think that if you are going to go off with an expensive house, you better go all the way. And this, my dears, it's a very good way to go all the way: slightly restrained yet not shying away from showing your taste and why not, the objects that make that taste stand out. It also works as a workspace, which is something many of us have to kind of include into our lives nowadays, right?

Less is some times more.

Also, is that doggie lucky or not???

XOXO

P.S. Like him, I have some clothing items that have been with me for decades. I have a pair of MarithĂ© and François Girbaud jeans from 2004 that I still wear.

    1. I agree.
Also, it gives you the chance to showcase more things. The eye does not wander as much...

  2. Very nice. I like the minimalist approach. Something fragile would never last in our kitchen - the wife would've knocked that over and destroyed it within a week. You might say she's a bit rambunctious when she's cooking or baking. But my favorite thing he showed? John-John. 😊 XOXO

P.S. Jeans from 2004? I have a shirt from the early 70s I still wear. (Told you I'm old!) xoxo

Yes, I'd be terrified of knocking that over while washing the dishes. But the approach he takes towards decor is fab.
And if I were you, I'd save EVERYTHING I have from the 70's and 80's and invite me and Mads for a weekend of dress up!

    2. Dressing up? At Pats??? I have the feeling that would be the last thing us boys would be up too. LOL

What, you think he'd have us swimming naked in the pool in thirty seconds? LOL

  3. As I get older Im starting to get more minimal but I still like certain things around me. His place is breathtaking although it's just a little too empty and cold feeling for me personally with all that concrete and smooth texture. But it's very handsomely done. And Marithé and François Girbaud jeans??? I still have a pair of those also. I love them and I can't lie they do make my ass look rather tempting. Still. I'm surprised they never made a comeback.

    1. You see, I'd love to have a place like this.
Just what I need. Just what brings me joy. And I love the Brutalist part of the house. I'd just add plants.
And yes! M&FG. I actually have three pairs of jeans from back then and I TREASURE them. They seem to have all but disappeared. Pity.

  4. Lovelovelove. Plus, Pieter is a sweetheart, so that helps.
I like things around me that I love but I don't need hundreds of things around me that I love and I love a minimal aesthetic. The library is fabulous, and the apartment is stunning; the views slay.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
What a great collection. I agree with the other comments, John John is a very precious doggie, and lucky, too.

I think we all have those simple treasures that may not mean anything to someone else, but are sentimental to us. I have a money clip given to me many years ago by a sweet guy who will always mean a lot to me. I think of him often and it always brings peace to me.

    1. The art collection is fab.
And the doggie adorable! I do have little things I love but I tend to just not get rid of anything I like. Ugh.
And I can't believe you still have that money clip! Awww

      XOXO
