Oh, Letters for Democracy, you said….?

Write letters to voters! Inspired by Mads' volunteering I thought it was really cool to have 'writing letters parties' and send letters to voters this election. There are THIRTY SEVEN active campaigns to choose from.

Apparently, writing letters to voters is one of the most effective ways to help increase election turnout. And you can do it right from home!

P.S. oh, you don't have time to write letters? Well then, help support the ones doing it! DONATE!

P. P. S. Post this in your blog to help spread the word 😎

  1. Thank You for helping grow the movement. We are strong. We are Blue. And we are going to open the mouth of Hell for Donald Trump and the Republicans.

    1. Oh, I think everybody should be doing something.
Even if it's from my tiny soapbox. I hope people get energized and VOTE! I am forever astounded by the number of people who do not vote.

Any movement that turns out the vote will help. With the shenanigans going on in red state counties, this election needs a tsunami so large the swing states wouldn't matter.

    1. Yes.
We do need a tsunami. The repugs will do anything and everything to win: suppress the vote, purge lists, intimidate voters, EVERYTHING.
People need to vote Blue now more than ever.

  3. My blogger friend Luke who I keep in touch with is a huge letter writer...and is very busy with such. He swears by it. There are numerous ways to volunteer in a campaign....just reach out to your county parties and they will direct you to different avenues.

    1. Oh, writing letters is quite effective.
The Manfriend's mom writes letters all the time and she gets results! I think we all should do a little (volunteering, putting out a word for Kamala and Walz) and get people an incentive to go out and vote.
I am actually going to the Dem headquarters in my town this month to get some swag and see how I can help.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
I beg to differ with Big on the swing states. The reason the candidates focus so much on them is the Electoral College. Yes we need a big, Blue turnout, but it’s much more important in the swing states so we can make it abundantly clear that those electoral votes go to the Democratic candidate.

The repugs are working hard to delay vote counts so the election gets tossed to the House. We need to ensure that Dems win an overwhelming majority in the House, which SHOULD be seated before the electoral votes are counted.

    1. I hope Kamala, as I suspect she will, will do double duty in these swing states. That is one area Hillary screwed up with and let her over confidence get the better of her. She thought she had locked up some blue wall states, but didn't.

    2. The Electoral College is super important!
And so are those swing states. And I agree with you with the repugs doing everything they can to sabotage the election so DonOld appears to win. And Mads, I don't think Hillary was overconfident, I think PEOPLE were overconfident she would win and they stayed home. Idiots.

    3. Big says,
If some of those midland states - which are typically red - vote blue, well...the swing states become less imperative. I keep thinking back to '64, when Johnson won 46 out of 50 states. It's hard to argue with that kind of a landslide victory. XOXO

    4. Sh didn't campaigned heavy enough in some swing states according to some of the Democratic field ops I know. It was unfortunate that the orange dump campaigned heavy in PA ...and the results paid off for him. As did Biden. He campaigned much heavier here than Hillary and got better returns.

  5. I signed up yesterday to receive 200 postcards to send to voters in swing states. You could pick the state you wanted...I chose Michigan. It's all about getting Dems out to vote! I'm planning on having a postcard writing party next month, and depending on how many friends RSVP I may order more. Let's all work together and win this thing!!!

That's the way to go. Seriously, when people get involved in the voting process at a personal level, things are seen differently. A postcard writing party sounds like ten tons of fun. I'd go!!
