Oh, One Drop...?

Oh, I'm just gonna leave this here...

Thank you, @briansimspa. He's such a zaddy mensch.

XOXO

P.S. It’s not BIPOC’s obligation to teach white people what racism is. It’s white people’s duty to learn what anti-racism is.

  1. It is by far one of the most disgusting things I've ever heard.
Ignorant, distasteful, stupid, racist and totally fucked up ... but that's The Felon.

    1. I was LIVID.
And I watched that trainwreck live! I just could not believe what I was hearing...

  2. Thank you, Auntie Bev! No clue. Never heard of it. Not taught in any school I went to... and I took a black history class in 1989 at an accredited college! When the orange ogre opened up his racist mouth at that black woman's caucus meeting... I about died. Not only did he think that the immigrants coming across the border were taking all the "black jobs" - he also questioned Kamala's heritage, and doubled downed on it after the flood of outrage flowed. Here's the thing... a guffaw like that would have sunk any presidential hopes in the past... but now? Racism is acceptable by 52% of this awful nation of ours. This nation has done some foul things in the past... and has never been held accountable. Thank you, Aunt Bev, for ringing this bell. And thanks for sharing, hon. Kizzes.

    1. Hey, we learn something new every day.
And THIS is why the Repugs do not want history taught. This is why the MAGAts grieve and grieve and grieve. I am with you. I watched him call that lady journalist rude in front of an audience of her peers!!!! When she was quoting him verbatim!
And laughing too hard sank Howard Dean's campaing. Remember that? MAGAts are idiots. The cult of the personality is alive and kicking in America.

    2. Oh, he WALLOWS in ignorance and hatred.
It's his trademark. And that's the way his followers think about the world and about other people, BTW. He's just voicing their grievances.

  4. Big says,
First, let me say: She adorable!
I knew about the "one drop" rule. Because, of course I did --- I have black relatives. I also knew about Carol Channing.
The racist right will not shut up. They're digging themselves deeper and deeper all the time. And I do not understand any BI{POC who would vote for them. XOXO

    1. She's everything!
Clear, concise, engaging. BTW, I had no idea about Carol Channing!!
And the MAGAts will not stop until any trace of history that they don't 'approve' of is deleted from the US education system.

  5. It's still beyond me why everyone just can't let eveyone just "BE". Really nothing new year. BIPOC have and will always be here much like us gays! As Marsha P used to say..."Were all brothers and sisters and human beings in the human race."

And Brian Simms. Woof. I recall flushly, him in a speedo at one of the fundraisers friends of mine had for him at their home when he was running for re-election years back when he was in office. Whew.

    1. Well, tell that to the racist bigots.
They always find something to bitch and moan about. The fragility of the white supremacist knows no boundaries.

And Brian Simms!!!! In a speedo?? *fans self* I would have probably fainted. In his arms.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
They had to make sure that they covered all of their bases when being racist. Just a single drop and you’re Black. Unless it suits their cause to prove that you’re not Black as in the case of collecting benefits of some sort, then you’re not Black enough. They’ll wield this cudgel anyway they can to exclude as many people as possible.

Thanks for the history lesson, babe.

They just don't do half-assed racism. They go all the way. They pick and choose they same way they pick and choose bible verses... nothing new.

And to think the South gave us jazz music and influenced rock n roll, due to contributions of black and mixed raced citizens.
What would New Orleans without its jazz scene and St Louis would be without its blues scene ?
Auntie Bev is spot on about the one drop laws of the past, that some would insanely want to go back to. -Rj

    1. Oh, yes.
Most of American culture has indeed been influenced by Black culture. It's everywhere. The problem is that it is whitewashed and diluted to appease the dominant culture..
