Oh, Sea Ranch...?

I love this so hard I had to post it here ...

I think this is how I kind of would love to see myself in the future. I know, I know. I may need a very hefty retirement fund. A house like this doesn't fall off a coconut tree. But a boy can dream, no?

  1. Sea Ranch is one of the most gorgeous spots on earth; and the ocean views are stunning.
I actually like this house quite a lot; I like simplicity, though I was shocked at "no drawers"! The land and trees scream serenity and so now I'm off to get a Lottery ticket in the hopes I win and can get these two to sell me their house ... or build me one of my own.

    1. Isn't it STUNNING?
I also like the house a lot. I like simple lines and efficiency. The 'no drawers' would make me Marie Kondo my life and I need that.
I'd love to build me one of my own, too! Gimme that lotto!

Oh this house is so simple! I love the design and the inter connectivity and the design with the dogs in mind. I’m also shocked with the “no drawers” concept. We need to build a compound of these houses for our group retirement.

    1. Simple design is very misleading: It's always difficult to accomplish from the paper to the building.
And I'd love to retire to a house like this. Really.

  3. I like that it's dog friendly, but giant sliding barn doors? Love the land and the views, but I'd have to demo and rebuild.

    2. I don't have animals and I don't plan on having them, but that implies that the house is above all, practical. That is what I like.
I think it's perfect for two people who do not want to busy themselves with extemporaneous tasks and want to enjoy what they have.
      It's a keeper.

  4. Big says,
This one is almost a complete winner. I am not on board with no drawers. I mean, individual pieces of flatware hanging on hooks on the wall? No. With ground along the backside of the structure being that high, I sure hope they did a REALLY good job of waterproofing. Eventually, there will be seepage.

I know, right? And the 'no drawers' really hit a nerve with all of us. For me, it's having what I need and not what I can have. I like that. And I think they did take that ground in the back into account. Remember, it's a custom house...

  5. If it was just a tad smaller this would make for an awesome mountain summer home or weekend home. I like the look of "plywood" inside. And I could get use to the emptiness...though if my full time home...id have to have my treasures.

I wonder where they put the sex toys? Or are they incorporated them into an art installation in the house and I missed it?

And who would not like to retire to that? I took in all those natural materials and was sold. I don't mind it being so... sparse? It's a plus for me.
And you know the sex toys are somewhere!

  6. Hmmm. I'm glad it's designed for dogs... for it's a dog house. I don't see anyone living there. The home is all design, no heart. Sorry... they forgot about what living is all about. This is an epic fail, for me. Kizzes. P.S. Nice views, unfortunately, this house does not belong there at all... it looks incredibly out of sync with the environment.

    1. Well, you know people and their pets...
And I would love to live here. It does not have the fuzz and buzz of other houses I've posted here. It's having what makes you happy, not being happy having things...

      XOXO
