Oh, Derek…

Oh, yes. Gotta love it when a fashion/ tailoring connoisseur can give you a TedTalk on classism, social inequity, politics and intersectionality in a tweeter thread. If you are on twitter, make sure you follow @derekguy He not only KNOWS men's fashion, he's been known to obliterate idiots into the stratosphere.

If there's anything left on twitter worth following, it's his feed.

There you go.

XOXO

    HuntleyBiGuy:
Derek has some great commentary and he doesn’t hold back. I enjoy his threads (pun intended). He’s quick witted and brings the tea.

Yes. The scalding tea and the know-how make his interactions pretty awesome.

  3. I have a blazer that I wear every so often and I get all kinds of compliments on it, and then I tell people I bought it at a thrift store in the 90s and paid $1.50 for it.
Fashion doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg.

    1. Big says,
A friend of mine (now deceased) bought all his clothes at thrift stores. Designer suits and stuff that he picked up for less than $20. It's a very wise move.

    2. Same, babes.
I have a Calvin Klein jacket that I got for ten dollars more than ten years ago that everybody likes. Upcycling is THE thing to do.

  4. Thanks. I dumped Twitter a long time ago and have no plans to go back. He should move is threads to Threads since Twitter will be dead soon.

    1. But Dave,
You know you don't HAVE to be on twitter to see what they say, right? That's how I get all these screenshots.
Threads is invasive and then you HAVE to be on Insta?? I think Huntley was talking about Bluesky and I may end up there...

  5. Big says,
I didn't think anyone was truly on Twitter anymore since the Apartheid Twit bought it. But I gotta hand it to him - he knows of what he speaks. I think. LOL. I think of fashion as I do home design: I like what I like and trendy does nothing but get people to spend their money. My 501s, t-shirts, and sports jacket have served me well for... Well, you know I'm old, so.....

But Derek knows what he's talking about. Great knowledge and fantastic Reading skills. And trust me, I have clothes older than myself, so....

  7. This Guy is pretty awesome. I will have to hunt down his feed and get some fashion help because I certainly need it. I really don't want Zuck to be my fashion inspiration.

    1. He is pretty cool!
He knows his topic and has wit and snark to spare.
And Zuck really is unfit to be inspiration in any field, TBH.
