Oh, the runway re-see?

I know, I know.

You love your Dickies and your comfy Goodfellow & Co. Polo shirts. They tell your story.  But once in awhile it is very much fun to peek at the world of haute couture. Haute Couture is expensive and coveted because it IS haute couture. Not everybody can wear it (or may want to?) but for whomever can afford it, it is a fantastic feeling and investment. Well made garments can be passed down to family members for generations.

Here's a peek at one of those designers I usually make sure to watch: @ThomBrowne. The fabulosity is just off the charts. The craftsmanship. The attention to detail. The luxury....

XOXO

P.S. how absolutely fabulous is @JoseCriales-Unzueta???

    I love Jose’s puppy!

The craftsmanship is off the charts here. The statistics on some of those pieces is mind boggling.

So when they make the pieces for these shows, do they have a particular model in mind to wear it? Or do all of the runway models strive to be one size? Curious minds want to know.

    1. Oh, the craftsmanship is incredible.
Is one of the things that keeps me in awe about Haute Couture. People think it's just literally strange clothes. And there's a 'model size'. I think it's size zero.

  3. Big says,
OK, the puppy purse...oh, puh-lease. Pretentious bullshit.
The clothes are stunning, though. I can actually appreciate them - all of them. I wouldn't buy them or wear them - even if I could afford to - but I think they're gorgeous.

And the clothes ARE stunning. If I could afford them, I'd buy them, for sure.

  4. I think you know his clothes give me a hard on. I adore his work....as we've, not seen such flair and drama since the McQueen and Galliano days.

His deconstructive technique, his use of materials, his sense of color and the unexpected quality of the designs? Yes.
      McQueen was GENIUS.

  5. Thom Browne is an adorable little nugget.
Amazing piece; if I lived in Paris, I'd rock some couture ... maybe pre-owned, but whatever.

Isn't he? Compact and delicious, I'd add.
And I would LOVE to own some vintage couture. Can you imagine???

  6. LOL. What a pretentious collection of f#ckwits. Oh, my word. I thought this was a parody. Is it? Is it and I missed that? The guy doing the vid? OMG. Puh-leeze. How self-indulgent. What utter crap. Sorry. Not my world, obviously. Not my people. To each their own... go... go be... you. Seriously? I had no idea things had gotten that affected, that ostentatious, that ridiculous. Is this an SNL sketch? Is it???

    1. You know that Haute Couture is not for everybody.
I love the idea of a rarefied environment that's accessible to people who are knowledgeable of the subject.
I see it as a window to something I don't have access to (or have much knowledge about) but that can be appreciated by its beauty.

      XOXO
