Oh, Muchness...?

Well, if you are going to make something that nobody needs, you BETTER bring it!

I agree. And who better than @ToddOldham to guide us in this trip??

XOXO

P.S. for those that think fashion is just 'a fad' or something 'nobody pays attention to', listen to Todd talking about the struggles that go on behind the curtain. Especially when it comes to race and gender. Yeah, it's like choosing things from a pile of 'stuff'.

  1. Thanks, but at my age fashion = sweat pants in the winter and shorts in the summer.

    1. And even those sweat pants and those shorts have a history and a story to tell in fashion.
They did not appear out of thin air...

  2. Big says,
If you think about it, we heard a lot of the same biased stuff in all industries. That changed, of course, but now it has reared its ugly voice once again. Louder, this time. Our problem is that we can't find balance. We watch the pendulum swing wildly from one direction to the other.
What does that have to do with fashion? IDK.... LOL. But it's what I got out of the clip.

    1. Oh, absolutely.
But you'd think that the fashion industry would be more... inclusive? But no.
And I agree: the problem is balance. And of course it has to do with fashion and trends. There's always a reaction to an action...

I am forever fascinated by people talking about what they do and love. Their experience makes the narrative so much more compelling!!

  4. Oh, to hear someone in high fashion talking about someone else’s kindness. Todd Oldham and André Leon Talley. That’s muchness!

  5. I always loved hearing him talk...very calming.....but if not for the voice...I would have not know that was Todd Oldham. My he aged. I had a huge crush on him in the 90s. I always loved his clothing and his looking ahead and cutting edge talent. And I couldn't agree more with him about Andre!

    1. I agree.
To me, he's still that spunky designer with the awesomely cut garments. He was very innovative. Andre was a force of nature!

And I live for that scene in Devil!

  7. It's all art. Living, breathing... art. You write a song. You tell a story. Make-up. Routines. Speaking. You have to operate from a place of quiet (in mind) in order to appreciate it, or create it for that matter. And it's not all pretty. Some of it is confrontational. That horrible red cap that ogre sells... that's iconic, like the swastika. It will stand the test of time. But to dismiss all those things that will not... that's not right. You need to find time to appreciate it as well. We're all a patch of fabric in a flowing robe... some of us clearly don't belong, but... there we are.
