Oh, Andrew.... Thrifting?
First of all, he's literally Huntley. Just add a few years and add some height (Huntley is over six feet tall, after all, hunny) add a little gray (and a cuter haircut), and voilà. There he is. Now you know ...
Now, on to the meat and potatoes: he’s giving quite practical, sound advice. I have been to most of the shops he mentions here in Chi and his advice really is spot on. And even though some people favor very new and shiny things, IMHO there’s an irresistible charm in old, gently used things that the product of a big box store cannot mimic. Ever. No matter how much Wayfair would try to 'age' that credenza you think you like.
And you, Constant Reader, do you ever go thrifting?
XOXO
I will buy tchotchkes in a Thrift store, and sometimes a great sports coat; I like things with a little age and a little history top them. I've never really seen any pieces of furniture that I wanted, but I love to browse.

ReplyDeleteYou flirt 😘. And he is quite cute.
This one is right up your alley. I know your penchant for thrifting and the joy of a good find, especially in vinyl.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
Honestly, I hate shopping. I never browse. I always know what I want before I step into a store, go right to that department, and if they don't stock it, leave.
ReplyDeleteBig says,
ReplyDeleteHaven't been in a thrift store since I stopped with theatre (costumes and props, of course), but a good friend of mine, now deceased, used to buy all his clothing in thrift --- designer stuff. At my age, I have everything I need and my wardrobe is nothing but jeans and t-shirts, which I normally get from Outlet shops. Oh, wait! is that "thrifting?"
XOXO
P.S. If that's basically Huntley, I can see why you two were a thing for a while. He's a cutie!!! xoxo
So what you're saying is I would totally do Huntley?
