Oh, Brian and James...?
Wait. I recognize that story. Boy meets boy online. Boy does boy. Boy stays with boy cause the connection is bomb...
Oh yes, the apartment. Well, their building is fantastic. And what they’ve done to the apartment is really cool and goes with the overall Brutalist vibe of the place. I really like their objects they have and the furniture and the way they interact with the space. That’s not always easily achieved because most of us usually buy without thinking about the stories we are telling.
I think one of the things that make our homes 'ours' is that we tell stories with the things we have (be it furniture, artwork, object placement, lighting, etc) and people can read that story. It helps if we have training in design and our husband shares our vision, but hey.
And I want that walk-in.

ReplyDeleteI really like what they’ve done with the apartment. The walk-in closet is PACKED! Reminds me of your closet in Dundee. I love the light coming into the apartment and how it flows. The kitchen is fantastic.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
Same!
DeleteIt looks really nice. And I'm cackling as I think about that closet. It's history repeating here, though... LMAOOO
XOXO
Interesting. The paneling is nice. So is the green framed mirror in the bedroom. I think the space is a lot smaller than it looks, though.
ReplyDeleteI did like the paneling.
DeleteThe warmth of the wood adds personality to the space. And they did transform a three bedroom into a two bedroom. It's also a 1960s building that was thought to be for 'young professionals', so very economical in space.
XOXO
Big says,
ReplyDeleteWell done. Not a real fan of wood, though in my younger days I was obsessed with Black Walnut --- so for some reason, I'm loving that dining table with the brass inlays. The kitchen is small but gorgeous. The bedroom gives a nice quiet respite from the living area. They've done a nice job with it.
XOXO
I thought the same.
DeleteI liked the dining room overall. That lamp is so pretty! The kitchen was also a plus. Not enormous (I don't cook that much) and pretty.
XOXO
First, I adore the building, having seen it inside and out on film and TV; and the views aren't too shabby.
ReplyDeleteAnd then I love the space; not too large not too small, but with a walkable outside terrace. Some of the furnishings aren't my style--a bit too precious--but I love the lighting and the dining table--not the chairs--and, yes, the paneling.
I could move in ... if they're sure to take the kid and his toys! 🙀
xoxo
OMG isn't that building EVERYTHING?
DeleteI'd live there in a heartbeat. I also love the space and what they did with it and I really like their objects/furnishings. I find them to be stylish but accessible. And yep, no toys or kids in my house, either!
XOXO
I am glad the boys are making it happen and the apartment is pretty amazing. Nicely done. I wish I had that kind of talent.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it?
DeleteI think they did a great job. I wish I had their talent also!!!
And so good to see you around here on a Tuesday!
XOXO
The panelling was lovely
ReplyDeleteI know!
DeleteAnd I don't really like panelling that much! I think it adds to the textures used in the decor.
XOXO
I love this place and all the exceptional details. Great colors, patterns, and textures. And I even like these guys!
ReplyDeleteSame.
DeleteAnd they're adorable!
XOXO
Lovely pied à terre in central London, but the pyramid shaped building in the view from the terrace made that part of London towne look like Pyongyang, North Korea :\
ReplyDeleteI very much like the kitchen and most of their furnishings but did not care for the dining room chairs. The Dutch plate is a hoot that would start a conversation. :)
The Best of London ! 🇬🇧🏴
Hahahaha
DeleteIt's the feeling, no? Very Brutalist.
And I kind of thought the dining room chairs would be a challenge for someone with bad knees...
XOXO
