Oh, a monologue...?
The Queerties are awards given to creators, programs, personalities, media, etc that has to do with... well, Queer people. And this was this year's introduction, by none other than @BobTheDragQueen. Who did NOT disappoint.
Enjoy!
XOXO
P.S. I've told you before and I'll say it again: stand up comedians sometimes have the best political commentary... also, @BobTheDragQueen has a book out!
I do love Bob the Drag Queen; funny, fierce, correct.

I adore Bob.
ReplyDeleteAnd never saw these awards, but they sort of reminded me... and ones I do miss... the HX awards that used to be hosted in New York. What a big old mixing bowl of a crowd they would get!!! Rauncy, dirty, filthy ..filled with every day people, club goers, porn stars, drag queens, club kids....it was a good time and warded hard work...even though I partly don't believe in awards shows. I sometime feel they are nothing more than yet another popularity contest.

DeleteOf course, award like these ( Oscars, Emmys) are popularity contests in deciding who / what "wins," but for the most part they are a way of recognizing the work; a way of making folks aware of something, bringing attention to it. Kind of like, who knew there were so many different LGBTQ+ media outlets??? 😘

ReplyDeleteSeeing Bob in a different setting and light, here. Comedians ---- good ones, anyway ---- always bring the good political stuff. Bob does not disappoint.
