Oh, The White Potus???
Yes, I've watched every season of The White Lotus.
Yes, I thought the third season was cool.
Yes, this is painfully accurate.
Yes, I laughed.
No, you don’t need any references to understand what’s going on here.

P.S. Full disclaimer: I don't think they had to shit on Aimee Lou Wood like that, though (love her in Sex Education!!). The rest? Spot on.
I agree about Aimee Lou Wood; I didn't know that wasn't some sight gag. Kinda rude of SNL.
ReplyDeletexoxo
It was lame.
DeleteThere could have been ways to do that better. The rest? On point.
XOXO
I've never seen it, as I don't watch much tv past PBS or BBC , but I think it will be hard to top the scene from the one season where a boss was tossing the salad of his younger co-worker!!!! Or having Jeniffer Coolidge.
ReplyDeleteI did however hear about the SNL issue....but then again, it like going to see an insult comic or going to see Lisa Lampanelli, you have to go in knowing and having a sense of humor, because you know they are going to bring reads, shade and insult. I remember some of my digs at drag show hosting, and some were downright cutting. But then queens are thought as nails too. Some bar owner not so much. LOL
Lisa Lampanelli!!! Yes, please!
DeleteHahaha
DeleteYes! That's the first season!! It was fabulous. Not because I'd let Murray Bartlett do most anything to me, but because Huntley spoiled me.
And the problem (for me) is that it was not impactful or funny (like when the girls get to cutting) it was just... meh...

Big says,
ReplyDeleteIf SNL would shorten the skits, it would be funny again. They have a tendency to beat a joke beyond dead. They did better with John hosting. Maybe he kept them in check.
XOXO
P.S. They should bring Baldwin back! He's been exonerated (yet again!) and never should've been charged in the first place.
They do that.
DeleteThe writing sometimes is lacking. The skit was fab, don't get me wrong, it was just that it could have been tighter. And Baldwin was fantastic.
XOXO
Didn't see the episode, though remember, it is satirizing trendy TV and satire isn't supposed to be warm and fuzzy humor.
ReplyDeleteOh the satire was there and it was very on point.
DeleteBut as a writer, you know that low hanging fruit and obvious twists are just lazy writing.
XOXO
The Aimee Lou Wood take was cheap, childish, and completely uninspired.
ReplyDeleteIt was!
DeleteIt kind of lower the level of a very smart, funny skit (even Scarlett Johansson showed up!). The Cheeto family was there in all its trashy obviousness.
