Oh, The Queerties...?
Queer joy is something I need right now. For real. And maybe you, too?t
While watching this I also learned about so many Queer people who keep flourishing even though this administration is doing literally everything it can to annihilate us.
If you have some time, watch. Because views in these times of social media do mean something. Just ask the winners!
XOXO
P. S. The introduction by @Bobthedragqueen was posted on this blog before. The whole show is literally Queer Joy just what the doctor ordered for the weekend...
We need to keep our names and our people and our community out there to show the world that this regime can try to erase us but we aren't ever going away.

PREACH!
DeleteI think that some LGBTQ people (mostly white cisgender gay men) believe that Pride is just one month of the year. Absolutely not. We need to support and uplift LGBTQ content creators all year long.

Big says,
ReplyDeleteWell, obviously, we don't watch enough LGBTQ...cuz, I can't even pretend to know what some of these awards are. I mean, Anthem, Insta-Follower.... Now, Cole as an Icon? OK, yep, even though he's way too young for that honor. LOL.
What surprises me about the Queerties is the lack of Hollywood attendance. I mean, come on! if it wasn't for the LGBTQ fans some of them would've faded years ago. #amiright?

XOXO
Oh, same.
DeleteI had no idea who some of these people were. But now I know. And Cole has been working forever and his achievements are quite impressive.
And you know that most Hollywood gays are closeted. So yeah. But the kids are OUT and proud.
XOXO
Big says,
DeleteOh, I don't mean closeted gay stars, I mean those stars who the gays have bolstered for years. Cher, Bette, Madonna, and the like. I'd include Babs, but she doesn't venture out for anything unless she's been nominated.
XOXO
I see.
DeleteI don't see any of the A-list allies going to this, though. It was for Queer creators (mostly very young), so it's very improbable that someone like Madonna would do something like this... Bette? Maybe. Cher? Probably not.
XOXO
I am glad you got some quiet joy and thanks for sharing with the rest of us. Every little bit helps in these trying times. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mr. Shife!
DeleteYes, I did!

I have seen this and love all of them....especially Murray! I agree with Bob's comment. And it's also why I hink it's important to attend as many Prides as we can. I know many of my friends only do pride events in the moth of June....but as we know it's all year. We can't let out guard down. I have another Pride event...Harrisburg Pride this weekend.
ReplyDeleteOMG Murray is a hoot!
DeleteAnd you are correct: attending Pride, supporting LGBTQ artists and content creators and keeping an eye out for Project 2025 are a NEED.
XOXO
I will make time this weekend to come back and watch this, thanks!
ReplyDeleteYay!
DeleteOh, you'll enjoy it.
XOXO
The reactionary types would just enjoy putting us all back in that closet that becomes a stifling tomb, never again !
ReplyDeleteToo many suffered through that sickening indignity of their lives destroyed or stilted. Lives worthy of accomplishments never realized, there is no going back to that.

Yes!
DeleteThey've been trying to get the Queers to go back into the closet since homosexuality was de-penalized and taken off the DSM. That is why events like this are important. New blood will keep the movement alive.
XOXO
Truth.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteWe are not going back.
