Oh? Why, though...?
Theater Gays, gather 'round.
We have some discussing to do.... as in, are these guys right??
XOXO
P.S. that description of Rent? I was deceased.
P. P. S. My top five are: Chicago, Rent, A Chorus Line, Hairspray and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. And that's cool, but do you know any of these?
I've heard of many on the list ... I did love, and I'll say it because I AM a Friend of Dorothy, Wicked. I loved Kinky Boots, Hamilton, In The Heights ... the new Cabaret, the new Sunset Blvd. I am a musical queen, sue me.
ReplyDeletexoxo
I have not seen Wicked!!
DeleteI know, I'm a bad Gay. Kinky Boots is fabulous.
And if you are a musical Queen come sit by me.
XOXO
Great video -- Bob the Drag Queen is so hilarious! I enjoy some musicals and hate others. From your list, I love "Ain't Misbehavin'" -- in fact, I've got the cast recording. My faves, the Pointer Sisters, are in it!
ReplyDeleteBob is a RiOT!
DeleteSo much personality. And the wit!
Ain't Misbehavin' with the POINTER SISTERS???? *faints*
XOXO
Big says,
ReplyDeleteOK...the gloves are OFF. 🤣 I get why some folks hate musicals. It's the whole "breaking out in song" thing. But, honeys, I am a sucker for a musical.
I know the vast majority of those. "Purlie!" was the first show our theatre company did. We've also done "Ain't MIsbehavin'," and "Working," and "Play On!"....
My faves: A Chorus Line, Les Miserables, Avenue Q, Hairspray, Rent, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Wicked, The Drowsy Chaperone, Punam County Spelling Bee, Chicago....
XOXO
Hahaha
DeleteI knew this would bring the Gays to the yard.
I find Les Miz a little heavy, but well done is glorious. I think Avenue Q is HILARIOUS.
XOXO
Happy Fourth, Sixpence! Hope you have a nice one! I have nothing to contribute to your blog topic because I am a musical theater novice. Only been to one show and that was Grease.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth, Mr. Shife!
DeleteAnd I love Grease! I've seen about six productions of Grease, all fab, all by College theater groups with kids born literally after 2005.
XOXO
Being someone who's seen Pippin (with the original cast) and Sweeney Todd (with the original cast) I have to say I'm quite partial to Musical Theater... though I hated Cats. Hated it!
ReplyDeleteSweeny Todd is FANTASTIC. And the original cast? Deceased.
DeleteAnd are you talking about the movie adaptation of Cats? Because that one is hysterical for all the wrong reasons!!
XOXO
Chicago (not so much the movie), Rent, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Les Miserables, Hamilton, A Chorus Line (not the movie), and many more. I love musical theater.
ReplyDeleteI kinda love Hamilton?
DeleteSaw it here like a year ago and it was outstanding. It was the touring company, though. No Lin Manuel. But it was good.
XOXO
