And this, Constant Reader, is why I could never be 'friends' or treat like 'family' or talk to an 'acquaintance' knowing they are MAGAts. This is why having 'conversations' with them is fruitless. This is why when people say: 'yes but both sides are bad' I feel like slapping them REALLY hard. I've always known I have my reasons to despise the MAGAts. This is just kind of a confirmation of why is it that they ARE despicable. Not that I actually needed it, TBH.
So go ahead, give it a watch. It's a little less than ten minutes. Then get back to me and tell me again how is it that you feel about authoritarianism and the people who enable it...
And yes, not all Repugs are MAGAts. But all MAGAts ARE Repugs.

I don't think it's as much fear as it is a total lack of compassion and the need to align themselves with power. There is a certain percentage of people who simply want to be followers. He's trying to simplify a seriously complex issue to meet his own criteria.

Excellent video and analysis. I agree that supremacist ideology is the evil at the heart of everything going on right now -- white supremacy, male supremacy, hetero supremacy, christian supremacy. This ideology is humanity's Original Sin, still going strong.

ReplyDeleteWhy can't people be different? Because those people are harder to subjugate unless you get the supremacists on your side and use them, and fear and ignorance, to keep the "others" in line.
I do not speak to MAGAts because there is no way in; hate has blocked the door; the joy of brown people in cages has blocked the door; putting women "in their place" has blocked the door; putting LGBTQ+ people back in a closet ...

MIC DROP! I couldn't agree more. I used to know a very crazed, racist Democrat. She was completely nuts. She was worst then some of the repukians I used to know. And I still know a few far left fruitcakes that make no sense. They balance the other side of the scale from the other crazy side of the scale.

I avoid Republicans now, not just known MAGAts. As I've often stated since Cheeto 1.0 - cruelty is the point, because as the man in the video says, it's the way they go about things ---- to cause as much physical and emotional pain as possible.

It's an excellent Video and pretty much explains what I've thought all along. Social Status Anxiety is a deeply rooted Psychology involved and solutions are going to be complex to be able to create a better tomorrow together. As an Old Hippie we were once Feared in much the same way becoz we disrupted the Social Status Norms of that period in time. My Parents were an Interracial Intercultural Union and very Bohemian, my Dad also Indigenous and a Two Spirit Person, perfectly acceptable in his Culture, but not in American Culture, then or now really. So, our Family was often dealt with Cruelly due to our Non-Conformity of the Social Status Norms. If you need to tear someone down to feel good about yourself or Superior, then you have a lot of internal turmoil going on and a Tortured Soul, that can only be Self-Work, nobody can do that Work for you. And those Types will only justify their perceived "Victimization" if they feel further threatened or think others are victimizing them, whether perceived or actual, doesn't matter, they play the part of being the Victim, thus justifying their Cruelty towards anyone perceived as an "Other". It's Toxic and is worsening, I do think it could end Democracy and once they get what they thought they wanted, they'll all be terribly disillusioned that their Boy has Played them, like the consummate Conman and Career Criminal he's always been. A good Conman doesn't have to be Smart, just Smarter than those he's Conning. He's Played them well actually.
