Oh, Lewis...!
I love fresh flowers.
It's one of those things I miss having around during winter and something I try to have at least once a month the rest of the year. That’s probably going to stop because of The Felon’s tariffs, though. I guess I’ll have to resort to the occasional artificial flower to tide me over, then…
I'd let Lewis pick my bouquet any time, BTW…

His street arrangements are fantastic.

I cannot believe how easily he just put those flowers together, though... and I love that white container he uses...

I treat myself to some fresh flowers every once in awhile too. They sure brighten up the place!
ReplyDeleteIt's therapy!
DeleteI feel slightly accomplished when they're in their vase, just looking pretty...

Big says,
ReplyDeleteI love flowers. But we very rarely buy them for ourselves. It's extremely rare, actually. Paying $25 - 30 for something that ends up in a trash can in a week.... 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

I sometimes just go cheap: supermarket cheap.
DeleteTrader Joe's has fab greenery and just a few flowers make for a nice arrangement.

You're spot on about the tariffs. Most of the fresh flowers we get come from Central or South America.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteVery few flowers come from the US. Tariffs are gonna affect a ton of people. Especially small vendors...

If not for my good friend, the Dame's major account of all of Hershey Corp and their proprieties..... 80% of his profit comes from them...the tariffs would be crushing his shop's business. And there is no why around not getting flowers from all the other usual countries whence they come. The US doesn't have the climates for certain , many varieties, to grow here year round. Or in general. I was just in his shop the other day to cover the shop for him since I used to work there. The prices!!!!!! A stem of ginger...$14. 3-6 stems of anemones or ranunculus...$26. 5 peonies...$30. A bouquet of lily of the Valley...$50! Basically anything specialty outside of roses or carnations has sky rocketed. The only way a florist may over come this, at least till the fucking prick is out of office, or hopefully dies....is to have corp accounts, sadly. He just took a wedding....for the brides bouquet, the brides flowers, the groom and groomsmen boutonnieres, and the table arrangements.....$ 9.800.00!!!!! So I'm sure this will also affect the wedding sector big time!
ReplyDeleteThank heavens my garden is making me happy. I have flowers every week.
OMG Mads!
DeleteThat is VERY expensive!!!
I cannot even think about the small businesses that are going to be crushed by these tariffs. So sad.
And that is a LOT OF MONEY for wedding flowers.
XOXO
LOL!!!! And that is one of his more modest weddings!!!
