Oh, Sean....!
The thing with mid-century modern is that it can look a tiny bit kitschy if not done correctly (as Mads has pointed out before on this blog thingy), butI think they did it correctly here. I like how the 'modern' touches did not interfere with the actual design of the house (that wet bar! the bathroom!) and still the house looks and feels young and current.
Just the detail of the Ikea Virgil Abloh rug framed would have reeled me in. I'm not sure about the skylights with plants in the kitchen, but I imagine they'll be watered from above? But I love all of his artwork and the stories it tells.
The kitchen left me thinking about the house color (that's similar to the color I used to drench the manfriend's powder room!) and the added hues to interior are fab. I was a little thrown by the kitchen, but I don't cook, so maybe he doesn't either??
And isn't that dog the gayest dog you've seen lately?
So adorable that a big guy has such a cute dog. Bet he gets a ton of phone numbers when walking that pooch…
XOXO
Nice house, I could live there, but with a much bigger dog.
ReplyDeleteThe plants in the skylight are a look, though not a really good one.
ReplyDeleteI do like the house and all the windows in that main space.
I could easily live there.

Big says,
ReplyDeleteLove this place. Very well done. And I didn't even notice the plants at those skylights!
Does he need a roomie???
