Oh, Mehdi…!
Bless his heart.
I would not have the restraint to deal with these stupid motherfuckers. At all. Here’s the tea:
One of the primary debates revolves around whether Donald Trump is "pro-crime." Mehdi argues that Trump's pardoning of individuals convicted of violent crimes, particularly those involved in the January 6th Capitol riot, demonstrates a lenient stance towards criminals. This claim is of course met with resistance from conservatives, who offer weak counter-arguments and alternative perspectives on the pardons.
On to the U.S. Constitution. Mehdi claims that Donald Trump is defying the constitution and conservatives either don't care about the Constitution, or like certain parts while discarding the rest. Points of contention include the First Amendment, Fourth Amendment, Fifth Amendment, Fourteenth Amendment, and the Second Amendment, with conservatives expressing varying degrees of support for these rights. One participant even openly states his preference for autocracy over democracy! Now you know what we’re dealing with here.
Ah! Immigration is another key theme, with Mehdi arguing that immigrants are beneficial to America overall, citing statistics on entrepreneurship and economic contributions. This prompts discussions about the impact of immigration on wages, job availability, and the cultural identity of the United States (that replacement theory, babes), with some conservatives expressing concerns about the effects of illegal immigration and demographic changes. Several participants express opinions ranging from strict border enforcement to outright deportation. Hence, their acceptance (and embrace) of ICE.
At the end, the conversation shifts to Donald Trump's plans for Gaza, which Mehdi characterizes as "ethnic cleansing." He argues that Trump's statements about removing Palestinians and taking control of Gaza align with the UN definition of ethnic cleansing (well, they do). A conservative participant agrees it is most likely his plan: no shit, Sherlock. We all know how that ‘peace’ went. They even discuss the underlying causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. And not touching that one. Nope.
Throughout the video, tensions rise as participants clash over fundamental values and interpretations of facts, mostly I think, due to their ‘research’ being done using social media and their reticence to deal with facts. Mehdi challenges these MAGAts views with statistics and probing questions. Which of course, you know how it’s met. This kind of debate really reveals the deep divisions between MAGA and the rest of the country, but it also highlights how complex and very often contradictory viewpoints can be found within the far-right conservative movement.
In other words, we are fucked.
XOXO
Big says,
ReplyDeleteAnd what it all boils down to is this: MAGAts are really, really, really scared of being the minority. Why? Because they know how minorities are treated --- they've been doing it for centuries.
XOXO
They are.
DeleteAnd you are right: they are afraid to be treated the way they treat other. Which is twice as ironic...
XOXO
Sorry, can't take this much evil stupidity first thing in the morning!
ReplyDeleteDon't blame you.
DeleteI could barely stand it. I don't know how he did it.
You CANNOT reason with stupidity.
XOXO
What whkattk says ... it's fear of other that keeps the cult in line, and after the way most white people have treated minorities over time, they should be afraid.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Constitutuion, it's like the Bible, they don't believe any of it that doesn't suit their limited world view.
VOTE BLUE!!!
RESIST!!!
xoxo
Some white people are afraid, that's true.
DeleteBut I think the driving force is grievance. Mix those two and you have a very powerful cocktail of hatred.
Resisting is the only way.
XOXO
Between all the people Dems, Repubs, and Independents that did not vote for him, I still don't understand why this small group of losers, the MAGA's are getting away with so much? Why are we not just declaring a revolution on their ass?!?
ReplyDeleteAnd if these dumb asses in this group don't see his views and poor decisions like on supporting criminals..."Trump's pardoning of individuals convicted of violent crimes, particularly those involved in the January 6th Capitol riot, demonstrates a lenient stance towards criminals." They are in denial and just like the releasing of Santos. Id ANY democratic did any of this or HALF of what Trump does or did. WE NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT!!!! The poor, stupid, sorrowful creatures...their equilibrium must be off. Or they don't have two brains cells to rub together.
Big says,
DeleteIf Dems had pulled any of this shit, they'd be locked up in a hurry.
XOXO
They are getting away with all this fuckery because they are a majority in the government right now. And they plan on keep being one through gerrymandering and cheating.
DeleteAnd of course they don't have two brain cells. They don't need them. They let others think for them...
XOXO
Jesus
ReplyDeleteIt's terrifying, John.
DeleteAbsolutely terrifying.
XOXO
The reason they're called the far Right is because they are opposed to everything that's considered compassionate. They are truly the party of the hatred.
ReplyDeleteThey are horrible people.
DeleteAnd they say that PROGRESSIVES are hateful. Projection and sound bites. That's all they have.
XOXO
HuntleyBiGuy:
ReplyDeleteIntentionally blind to the world around them. Tunnel vision of the worst kind.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
They oppose everything that is not LIKE them, also.
DeleteThey are horrible, terrible people.
