Oh, a snake in the grass...?
John Oliver criticized Bari Weiss for her appointment as editor-in-chief of CBS News, especially because her past work can be only described as "irresponsible" and "deeply misleading." And he just was just scratching the surface. There IS concern over her lack of experience in traditional journalism and her history of publishing 'opinion pieces' that often reinforce specific right wing viewpoints. And THAT, babes, should worry all of us. After all, CBS is one of those news flagships that go into most American households.
Weiss is exactly the kind of poisonous, disingenuous, greedy, selfish, backstabbing LGBTQ person that I deeply despise. She’s one of those overly verbose, shady, condescending people that would utter a death sentence with a smile. And she’ll be in charge of a large media empire led by an oligarch techbro. Be prepared for fuckery afoot.
People like Weiss is precisely why I never do ‘both sides’. Because 'both sides' can be heard when we talk about pizza toppings but not when one side is obviously lead by a Nazi, white nationalist ideology and the other side is literally condemned for being Antifa.
Weiss could never be my friend. Ever.

I find it interesting that a lot of right-wingers will accept her, a Jewish lesbian, in that position simply because she's anti-Palestine and leans towards a conservative agenda.

ReplyDeleteOh, CBS News, how you have forsaken us! It's worse than most think. It has infected the local affiliates now, too. They started running the Noem propaganda ads during the local newscasts. They "reported" on the local No Kings with one sentence, then followed it up with a statement by some right-wing Republican politician about the awful "fascist liberals" who participated are trying to destroy the country.
I was incensed, and sent them messages in two places telling them how disgusting it is. Not that they care....

Does anyone even watch CBS anymore? I thought it was a network for old people. LMAO!!! They have been floundering for YEARS in the ratings race. And I saw Pat's comment about the local news. I know here, it seems everyone watches ABC AND NBC local news and they reported heavily about the No Kings! I don't personally know anyone who watches the CBS local news here.

DeleteBut a lot of people in the mainland DO get their news from the cable News. There's ton of people who ONLY get their news from the cable News. And that's scary because little by little they'll all be bought with someone with too much money and very few scruples.
