Oh, a corporation..?
TLWW: it is a myth. What the MAGAts say to justify Cankles being voted to be president is a myth.
Tea: it doesn’t work, and for very specific reasons.
Businesses focus on profit, which can lead to neglecting public welfare (DOGE!). Government should prioritize services that benefit all citizens, not just those who can pay to play: look at what Cankles is doing. He's selling the country for parts.
Unlike businesses, governments must respond to the needs of the public, which can be complex and varied. THAT is why people elect their officials: to respond to their needs (Marjorie Three Names just seemed to get aware of this and quit before she was fired). Decisions that affect citizens cannot be made solely based on financial metrics, as it is done right now: that is why infrastructure will go to hell under Cheeto and that's why irreplaceable natural resources will get pillaged during this administration.
Government actions can have lasting effects on society, such as healthcare and education. Business decisions often prioritize short-term gains (have you heard of TACO?), which may not align with the needs of the public. Where do I start? The checks for health care that MAGAts will lap up, the destruction of ACA, the universities bowing to the right wing idea of education....
All of these things are problematic, especially with Cankles and his cronies. And it's going to get worse, babes. Much worse...

Big says,
ReplyDelete100% ... Nay, 1,000%. Sadly, we have 78M voters in this country who are complete dumb fucks. Though, it does seem as if *some* of them are learning, It's going to get worse for the next 13 months, and then it will take generations to repair the damage Cankles and his cronies will have done.
XOXO
I will never be able to get over the blinding stupidity of the MAGAts.
DeleteNever.
And I think they'll learn the hard way (like the crypto idiots who just lost a huge chunk of money). You are right, it's gonna take generations...

Running the country like a corporation would fail because on those at the top are happy. They simply do not care about those at the bottom of the ladder, those individuals are disposable. Their only worth is in how deep in debt they're willing to go to satisfy those at the top.
ReplyDeleteIt IS failing.
DeleteThe tax breaks for the rich, the DOGE strategy of 'cutting' spending, the pillaging of natural resources, the kakistocracy... Everything that Cankles is doing is gonna implode.
And we'll pay for it.

Corporations operate on a psychopath model. A corporation operates only to maximize profit for its shareholders. Any way it can do this is acceptable to a corporation. It has no social conscience (like a psychopath, no sense of guilt/shame/desire to do good) unless the shareholders act against their own best interests. The only way to force a corporation to be socially responsible is for the government to enact laws and regulations requiring it to do certain things (e.g. pay taxes, have safe working conditions, etc.) If the government refuses to intervene, society becomes hellish. If the government itself is organized to run on the corporate psychopath model, society becomes even more hellish.
ReplyDeleteI have nothing to add.
DeleteNothing.

This was my issue with the fat bastard since the mid 80's with him. He was never good with money and apparently couldn't run a business for shit without declaring bankruptcy or them going belly up. What made him and his supporters think he'd run a whole country?????? Now look where we are at.
ReplyDeleteHe's a nepo baby.
DeleteHe has not worked a day in his life and has always been bailed out of his problems with money. He's gonna bankrupt this country too.

HuntleyBiGuy:
ReplyDeleteCorporations are in business for themselves. Unfortunately, that is the credo of the repugs and we’re now seeing how that goes. Time to kick out those who do not serve for the people.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
Oh, yes.
DeleteThe repugs are in it for the money. They are all greedy bastards, ready to sell themselves and the country to the highest bidder.
Just look at Mitch McConnell.
